Hello,
I don't post on forums often, other than when an idea pops up in my head.
I wanted to ask, if you were seeking a service sub/slave (which now-a-days many Dommes do), what skills would you usually seek, or find very useful, or even as bonus points? Just list things you typically would seek in a sub/slave.
I will start with a few I saw in the ads, but I want to hear more, so I can perhaps go out there and learn a few of these skills:

-Washing delicate laundry
-Carpentry (this is most common one I see)
-Giving massage
-Giving pedicure
-Computer/web-site building skills

Ok what other ones do you find important/useful/etc ???

*points to carpentry* I suspect I'm not the only woman who finds a man doing woodwork hot. (Pun not intended!) So I'd definitely second that one, in and out of the bedroom.

I'm not so much into service-submissives, although I do expect a certain amount of that, so I'm not specifically your target group, but...
I'd add dishes and cooking (DEFINITELY cooking!) to the list. (And, in my particular case, take off computer skills, not that really ANY skill is a negative, just totally take it or leave it for me.)
Automotive skills are good, too...at least be able to change the oil in the car.
That's all I've got off the top of my head.

Yard maintenance! mowing, weeding, pruning, digging, arborist-level pruning/topping/removal
Home maintenance...de-mossing the roof, clean gutters, scrape & repaint touch-ups ext, install/remove winterizer insulation, replace patio roof panel
Rough/outdoor carpentry (I can drill my own holes and sand my own finishes, thank you): repair/replace fences, hang doors, swap out storm/screen doors seasonally
Auto maintenance: clean car, detail car, oil changes, tune-ups, brakes, rotate tires...
Plumbing repair...trouble-shoot at least, and dig trench if needed to fix line.

And a really expert foot rub.

Delilah Deb

Hmmm a lot of car-related and yard-work related activities.
Anything else that may come to mind that may impress you? Such as being a good photographer, would something like that impress you?

It wouldn't impress me really, because I HATE having my picture taken!!

Most of my preferences have been added already, though I don't want anyone cooking for me (I like cooking. Yes, I know I'm odd.).

Yes to yard work, car repairs (a whiff of oil gets MY motor running, believe it or not), heavy lifting, yukky, dirty jobs and those that wreck my fingernails. A sub definitely needs to be able to do things I request to the letter. By that I mean to MY standard, not his. I hate having to repeatedly tell a sub that he's not finished because he cleaned the kitchen, but the fridge looks like a small tribe of pygmys are living in the jungle in the crisper.

You actually did hit the nail on the head for Me with the computer skills.  I've been only half joking about saying any additional sub that I take needs to be a computer whiz.

Cooking is always good.  Even those who like to cook for themselves like to be treated to a surprise meal or breakfast in bed once in a while.

The ability to give a good pedicure.

Leatherworking skills would definitely be a plus.

General cleaning, of course.

Yardwork/gardening.

Dishes
Cleaning/organizing
Chauffeur
Pack Mule (carrying heavy stuff)

As far as other skills, it depends. I rarely let anyone else do my pedicures other than a pro (or myself), so that doesn't do it for me. Same thing for massages: I dated a massage therapist for many years, so I'm extremely picky, and usually only get a backrub if my back is really hurting. So most of the services I want are decidedly unglamorous and don't involve touching me.

You know what would be great though? A hairstylist who could blow out and straighten my hair. That is such a pain in the butt to do myself!

Good photographer would be nice (I mean, really, being good at any skill is nice, you know?), but it does occur to me that I, in particular, appreciate someone who can write well, who can produce a good turn of phrase, spoken as well as written. I'm a fairly talented writer myself, which is probably why. :)

(fast reply)

Greetings,

I would greatly value a slave that could:

Give a real pedicure and not just paint my toe nails
Give a real manicure
Serve a formal table
Take instruction well
Write both effectively and expressively
'Keep a house' in the traditional 1950's sense

All other skills such as photography, mechanical, gardening, etc would all be assets and I would appreciate and find an outlet for all of them but ... they are not at the top of MY priority list.  If someone has developed a skill it usually means that there is some interest in the subject and time should be made to explore and develop that interest (in my opinion, of course).

Having good house skills is all fine and good and so is washing and waxing my car, but can he lick his own eyebrows?  Now works for me!

There's nothing wrong with a little lip service either.
