btw for people who think i am here for the wrong reason then have a look at my profile and the daily notes, and grammar isnt my best thing seeing as i didnt finish school but does that make me a different i dont think so seeing as you all can read what i am saying .
here is another thing for you to ponder too
do you get the impression that people who live on yr own door step are more scared of you tha people who live over the pond , or am i that scary lol

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh you fickle man...and just where does that leave ME?

Seriously...I've yet to run across a site where they concentrate on dominants learning from each other and then training the submissives on the same site. Never really looked for one but haven't run across it, either...

This site brings together all types of folks. I came here a little over a year ago after a painful break-up with my submissive 9 months earlier. I came here because I wanted to find friends, I wanted to learn, I wanted to be able to meet submissives whose thoughts were sometimes put out on these boards and did not need to be pried from them nor were all their answers smart-ass ones in an attempt to be humorous. I've done all of that...made friends, including the manwhore/I've learned from many people including fellow dominants, switches and even...gasp...submissives/I've met submissives whose main goal did not seem to be how many dominants they could attract and keep on a string with a mixture of cuteness-sexiness-smartass attitude. I've also met a few diminants, a few sinos (submissive in name only) and a few clueless assholes that made the vertical line in the middle of my forehead deeper.

You really live up to your name, don't you.

OP - In any setting you're going to run across time-wasters. That's because we're human beings. Each of us wants something different, and each of us has something different to offer.

IMO, the reason this forum is so active and works so well for most is that there is such a diversity of interest and of purpose for being here. Other sites I frequent have sluggish forums because most people are there only for meeting someone and forming a relationship. They really have no interest in sharing thoughts and insights with others who share one common bond.

I have seen more tolerance on this site than on any other site. I've seen people taken to task (rather like you are right now, I'm afraid). I've also seen people reach out to one another for help and receive that help. It's a real community.

Status: offline 		I always wonder why people assume that one orientation is here to teach us, or better us.  Why don't you do that for yourself?  As for why someone close by may be more scary, I considered that a bit.
There is a guy who isn't that far from me, a supposed "dom", or so states his profile.  Now and then he wants to meet me but so far I have passed on that. 
It doesn't have a thing to do with meeting someone who might dominate me.  It doesn't have a thing to do with being fearful of meeting someone. 
Since I run a munch group I meet people all the time, often one on one.  Meeting men or women is not the issue.  His request to meet me has nothing to do with attending a munch in my area, as I know there are munches where he lives.
What stops me then?  I find I am repelled by his grammar.  He cannot spell very well, which is ok to an extent because I find women tend to pay more attention to those things.  But his lack of punctuation, his general disregard for composition and form give me a clue about what he finds acceptable for himself.  And wowie, that is way down on the scale of the type of people I find fascinating.
I know it seems snobbish of me, however we all have our standards of attraction. 
I have written to men who have this same issue if they are not local.  Mostly because they might contact me on non ds type things.  But I keep my response to this man very brief.  I think it is because he is local.  I just don't want to find myself meeting someone where my response to his education might become noticible.  It is the possibility that he might be insulted which keeps me at a distance.
I think you will find that dominants, here or elsewhere are people.  They are not more knowing by right of orientation.  And they might be looking for people who meet their level of attraction, what ever that might be.

Dude, you are projecting your idea situation on to the people of this site. Bringing people together is a side effect of WIITWD. People feel the need to find a mate/s first then socialize second. No matter what scene you are in, vanilla, sports, clubs, church, people rarely do anything that does not benifit them in some way. Altruistic motives usually influeneced by a primary reward. I am good because: I want to get into heaven, I want her to like me, I want gain respect in my communitiy, I want to be seen as an authority figure, I want to be a guiding light, blah, blah, blah! Do you see the key word, I WANT! This is not a bad thing because it is what allows us to grow as human beings. If we had no desire or insentive to change, because we settle for what we have, then we wouldn't even have this site, now would we?
