Okay, i'm completely clueless here, and yes, i know not for the first time..lol. What exactly purpose would the master have or what would he be trying to teach his sub/slave by cutting off his slave/sub from showing good manners. What kind of lesson is he trying to teach.

Personally i don't see any reason for ever rebuffing good manners. It's not good manners to thank at the "wrong" time..i.e., "thank you Master for the flogging" said in front of the boss, that's not the impression i received from the OP. If the sub/slave was gushing on and on, then that's not good manners either, so i could see where it "might" happen, but just to be threatened with punishment for saying thank you -- i just don't get it, and i don't want to...
