I won't vote for Obama but I wouldn't say that either.  I wouldn't be surprised if he became another "unexplained death" in the Clintons' collective shadow but i would not wish it on him.

lronitulstahp -> RE: Obama wins North Carolina! (5/7/2008 4:33:58 PM)

i'm not sure i'd vote Obama over McCain...and since this election i damned sure wouldn't vote for Hillary...(though i still find her hubby quite doable...but i digress).
i think hate speech of any kind is really just a way for insecure people to cling to any similitude of humanity on par with those that are in posession of all their mental and emotional faculties.  Sure, some racist bigotted assholes are brilliant intellectually...but they are emotionally reprobate.
You should never feel a need to explain yourself based on someone else's failings...for instance, i never feel the need to explain Al Sharpton, J-Lo, or Pocohontas for that matter to anyone...

Well, I'll vote for a rotting artichoke before I'll for for a Re&*%$#@#.

OrionTheWolf -> RE: Obama wins North Carolina! (5/7/2008 4:56:03 PM)

What is it about the Republican ideology that you dislike so much? Not the non-Con BS we have had for 8 years, but the party platform itself?

Huh!
The Democrats are adjusting the lounge chairs on the Titanic again.
Can you say "Trainwreck?"
Now remember Dems, pick the candidate who's *MOST* "to the left", to really piss-off the American People!
That always works! (snicker)

The candidate MOST to the left of the American public was Dennis Kunich and he didn't get far. CNBC's stock market coverage was actually touting Obama as more business freindly than Clinton.

So... did you do much homework before making these comments?

Filkus

BoiJen -> RE: Obama wins North Carolina! (5/7/2008 5:18:20 PM)

oh jesus. Obama has brought up the racist BS before anyone else. "If you're not black and you don't vote for me, you're racist"...basically his message periodically throughout his campaign.

And just because YOU wouldn't vote for McCain over Obama or Hilary (whoever gets the nomination) doesn't mean that at least 1/3 of each candidate's supporters wouldn't. This is why McCain will win.

Got quotes?

And I'm a racist why?  Oh yeah, because I don't want to vote for Obama?  Reread my post and grab a dictionary.  Look up racist.  Nothing in any of my posts suggests racism.

I don't want to vote for Hillary either but that doesn't make me gay.  What a pathetic attempt at labeling.

lronitulstahp -> RE: Obama wins North Carolina! (5/7/2008 5:29:08 PM)

not at all...i felt you were trying to apologize for someone else's post...please re-read my post, i think you'll see what was inferred....

FilkusNM -> RE: Obama wins North Carolina! (5/7/2008 5:39:43 PM)

My apologies Irish. That was actually directed toward those who continue their drivel about Obama being a Muslim terrorist. I did not intend to reply to you.

(ooops, Master hadn't signed off. This message is from gina0055)

Irishknight -> RE: Obama wins North Carolina! (5/7/2008 5:43:56 PM)

If I was wrong that the person I quoted wasn't pointing the finger at me then I apologize.  I still don't care for Obama and nobody is going change that by bringing up the racism lie.  Since the post says in reply to me, I spoke up.
I don't have time for racism or reverse racism.  Both are counterproductive.  Neither will I apologize for an offense I didn't commit to those who were not alive when it was committed.  No one is kissing my ass for the Cherokee relatives I lost on the Trail of Tears or the Irish relatives I lost while they were "indentured servants."   Nobody is telling me how sorry they are for the relatives raped or killed in Sherman's "March to the Sea."  Furthermore, they don't need to.  It won't change history nor will it make me who they want me to be.

I haven't seen that, but I have seen some Democrats attack him so violently, that I have to wonder if they don't have a little racial angst going on.

It doesn't mean they would, either.

Irishknight -> RE: Obama wins North Carolina! (5/7/2008 5:52:12 PM)

My apologies for the misunderstanding then Gina.  And, Obama is not the one bringing up the race issue.  You will never find a single statement from him saying "Vote for me or you are a racist."  He is a smart man.  In a few more years, I might consider voting for him.
There are some wacko supporters of his that are saying that and trying to play on some wierd thing called "white guilt."  They should be given about as much thought as you give a terd before flushing it.  .

popeye1250 -> RE: Obama wins North Carolina! (5/7/2008 6:00:39 PM)

If the Dems are dumb enough to give him the nomination (and they most certainly are!) he'll take Cambridge, Mass and Bezerkley, Calif.
This will be like Eugene McCarthy vs Nixon, McCarthy took 2 states.
How's he going to sell his "stopping genocide in Africa" plan to people who couldn't care less and are more worried about stabilizing social security?
Or medicare?
In November Dems will be crying in their 20 year old cognacs again, "we coulda been contendas!"
"Three in a row!"

Are you trying to say that the Republican platform for the past FOURTEEN years isn't the Republican platform you all have had for the past 14 years?

Way back in the late 80s, I was actually a Repub precinct chair in Texas. I disagreed with part of the platform, but agreed with more of it. I thought Reagan was dumb as a fence post, but I agreed with the Populist branch of the party. I only did that because I was asked. I was really more of an independent.

What nailed it for me was when some fathonky cocksucker had his ten year old kid stand up and give an obviously prepped "speech" about how horrible abortion was, and how it should be a party plank. This kid didn't even know what abortion was, and this fat fuck brainwashed the little git. I stood up and said, "far as I can tell, this is just a continuation of the 5000 year old effort to keep women oppressed and suppressed," got up, walked out, and never looked back. Some of the chicks agreed with me, too, but they were shushed.

Now it's the party of rich Wasps and their legions of redneck NASCAR Gomers and Suburban racists.

And I'm more and more radical every day.

Leatherist -> RE: Obama wins North Carolina! (5/7/2008 6:44:46 PM)

Clinton has some actual experience with economics. Obama is just playing on his novelty.
