i was thinking tonight (which is a dangerous thing) and it occured to me how often i see submissives/slaves referred to as sluts. Is submission something perverse? mine isn't. my submission is given with tenderness and a full heart. Now, i would never ever say that i don't enjoy my fair share of kinky eroticm but is submission about sex or about giving? So, my question to Y/you is.......
What kind of submissive are you?
What kind of subbmissive are You looking for as a Dominant?
Is there a "sterotype"?
In it's purest form, this lifestyle is Biblically described (and one day i'm going to find the exact verses). The Dominant and submissive peices fit together perfectly and work, in helping each other, to make O/one perfect person. ~climbing down off of and burning the soap box, smiling softly~....... thank Y/you for Your time.

In my opinion (which doesn't often match the opinion of others - go figure) - submission is many different things. To some it is perverse a darkness inside that needs release, to others it is part of who and what they are. No two are alike.

For me, what I look for is not "A" slut, but "My" slut. Not "A" slave, but "My" slave. I want her, whoever "she" is, to give herself over to me. I do not look for a doormat - I get bored way to quick with that type. I do not look for a sub/slave who gives herself to just anyone. If she gives herself to just anyone, what value is her submission to me? I desire a slave of quality. One who has honor, morals, honesty, and impeccability of spirit.

I agree with ZenMaster and rayven on this one. I am happy with whatever my Master prefers to call me, which is usually "bitch" or "slut", but only used in private or with others in the lifestyle.

Terry, I don't know about others but I often find that I don't need to post to a thread if you've been there before me -- you've already said what I would have, and more economically too.

I look at the person first. I'm interested in someone that I can admire and respect, someone who respects himself. I believe in the power exchange between Dom and sub, and if my sub has no power in himself, how can he surrender it to me? If I have no vulnerability to him, how will I hold the power he has to give?

Like Shadowhawk, when I find him I prefer to call him "Mine", *s*, usually with a very possessive little growl in the back of my throat. Lol, it just creeps in! Anything else is social noise and self-image.

Actually that is a good answer. A slave/sub (dare I say a "good" slave[:)]) can and will put up with anything he/she can endure for the ONE. He/she hopes it is something enjoyable. Sex is enjoyable. Looking forward to it is slutty in a saintly way.[:)][:D]

I do not believe there is a single steriotipical name for a sub/slave. What I seek is very much like ShadowHawk. Not merely a sub/slave/slut but one that is Mine.

I'm not terribly into humiliation or stereotypes. To refer to someone as a slut just makes no sense to me. I won't even call a real prostitute that.

I guess I am just too calm and laid back to bother with these sorts of labels. Sexuality is not dirty. I see no need to attach negative associations with something I enjoy.

If I wanted to wallow in Catholic guilt,I would be going to mass and confessing my alleged "sins" to some person sitting in a little cubbyhole,who is not one bit better than I am. . But I am free of those sorts of inhibitions-and the trappings that go with them have no meaning to me.

My answer is "all of the above"

For me "slut" is an attitude towards sex, not a perversion. For me I am tender AND a whore, I submit through sex AND through giving.

For some people it IS primarily about sex, for some people it's nothing at all about sex.

Your purist form here is pretty heterosexual monogamous based solely on gender. It doesn't much apply to me at all.

With the right trik in my collar, she’ll have earned the affectionate name slut or slutlet or even tart or tartlet. To earn this there will have been on occasions much squealing, fabric ripping, legs waving in the air whilst spread wide and volumes of screams .. I’ll leave it for you figure the rest. She would probably have done this whilst in the company of others or at the very least with the bedroom/dungeon door open. BUT….. when i am called slut, bitch, wench, baby, little one, or whatever by Master for me its a badge of honor. Its much better than "hey you". Or what's yer name. I most especially love it when he calls me his lil slave. So saint or slut, doesn't matter as long as its not "umm what's yer name again"

The term submissive should not automatically bring thoughts of a slut or a whore to mind, instead a great bond of trust and respect. Of course there are many stereotypes when it comes the Lifestyle, hence why it has remained still today a closed door subject. To the moral society who we are and what we do is a sick and twisted game. While it may be at times, I believe we just take the very essence of who we each are and live it to its fullest potential.

I've called submissives of mine all of these names on the occasion. Some as a pet name, some in the thralls of sexual extacy. It doesn't define them to me at least as a degrogatory remark. To me it is more of an affectionate term when I use it. We are all different and this is way to broad of a topic for any single answer to hit the nail on the head. Each person, couple, define themselves and how they view the Lifestyle differently.

At one point in my search for my "perfect" submissive, I thought I was in search of the dirtiest little girl I could find. And trust me, I have had some dirty little girls under my care. As I grow older, and hopefully wiser I've learned to focus more on the bond. The potential of love, trust and the utmost respect for one another within the power exchange. I wouldn't say I've changed who I am, because that is definitely impossible, but my outlook on who I would like to end up with in the end, surely has. Of course I'd like whoever I end up with to be a dirty little girl at times, but when the time is right, and not always an outward appearence.

i don't get terribly upset with what i am called, just that i am called. in my humble opinion and limited view, both slut and saint have their benefits. a saint shows the way to heaven, and a good slut brings a little heaven to earth. call me whatever makes You smile, and i will have accomplished at least one of my goals.
