Well, fasting is hardly needed. (It can be a nice touch, and a fun part of the ritual, if you like, but it's hardly a requirement.)

From the talks I've had with women whom I've done this sort of play with, I found that (physically) they seem to enjoy the sensation of being penetrated, without the worry of accidentally getting pregnant. Just wondering, how does one determine what makes an act into a submissive one; or on the other end, what makes an act into a dominant act?

With all the debate about whether being penetrated is inherently submissive for a dominant woman, with the general consensus being that it is not; how does it manage to become automatically submissive for a man to be penetrated?

DC, it's not "automatically" a submissive act, but in a BDSM context, it usually is intended to be so. (Although I'm sure that there are subs out there who do strap on scenes with their Masters, simply because the Master really likes the sensation, I tend to think that the overwhelming majority of this sort of play is Femme Dom/ male sub, in nature.) I could be wrong. Usually when anyone says "thus and thus is so" there are always exceptions... and thus the person pontificating is proved wrong. But generally speaking, I think it's true.... BDSM couples look at strap on scenes as being a form of submission.
