Slaveboy - I think I mispoke and based it on your earlier comment about jocks / pe majors etc and the fact that you do actually have model looks as others said. I often look too effeminate as I dress for comfort not looks. [cotten content in shirts as aposed to the color. on me pastels look fem, so much so a neighbor guy refused to agknwoledge me when I was pulling weeds]

Actually, I am straight - but in this community of ours we are supposed to be accepting of all orientations, genders, and combinations so I dont see why that matters. If I did fancy men, I would say so as this should be a place where one can do so with total acceptence. You were indulging in some rather odd and graphic descriptions, and that's how it came across to me. I have met many men who clamour their heterosexuality whilst at the same time being clearly obsessed with homosexuality: you sound like one of these men, who are terrified of their own desires (ever seen American Beauty? ).

Actually, it is LCDR - but it is still O-4 which is the same as a Major in the other branches. See, thats the difference between us... I haven't stared down the barrel of any cops handguns because I do not piss them off and make them pull them out of their holsters. "Staring down the barrel of too many cops guns" is not something to be proud of - frankly it may one day prove fatal to you. You may get one on the wrong day, or a nervous rookie who never had the gun out before, or even one whose got a little too much adrenilin going who squeezes just a little too hard and then your brains fly out the back of your head and your family cries. It takes 4-1/2 pounds of trigger squeeze to fire my Sig 226, thats not very much and all it takes is one cop popping one and then they all open up. There will be a quicky internal affairs investigation, they will get their stories straight, maybe even drop a piece on you and poof within a week they are off desk duty and back on the street before the flowers from your funeral even wilted. Thats picking the unwinnable fight and for what? The satisfaction of arguing with a civil service employee who makes $30K?

George Washington was not one of the Sons of Liberty and had nothing to do with the Boston Tea Party. Whats more he was a General not a Major so he had stars not oak leaves. However, I have not "lost perspective" I am correctly stating that you shouldnt try to rollerskate uphill, you shouldnt piss into the wind, and you REALLY shouldnt defy, mouth off to, get lippy with or otherwise piss off certain cops. Look at the ones in NY who blew away the guy at his bachelor party? Or the ones who shoved a plunger up the hatian guys ass? Or the Rodney King ones in LA? The ones all over the south who will make you incredibly miserable if not dead... There is a corrections officer at the Harris County jail who laughed as an inmate bled to death out of his asshole while other inmates pled for him to call medical help... The deputy laughed and said "what do you want me to do get a bandaid for his ass."  Finally, help was summoned when the guy was in respiratory arrest and died. Over 60 inmates testifued to this and passed polygraphs to that effect. The deputy was punished by being taken out of the jail and put on the road.  Thats right, the road... SO, he just might pull you over, on a dark deserted stretch of highway, where its your word against his... Try arguing with him out there in the dark and see if its winnable or not.... Me, Ill stick to playing by the rules so the guns stay in the holsters, and nobody gets shot - esp not me... Good luck on your war though.

OK so back on topic, I have shared this story before.  The reason I don't like the police being ok with their probably cause being "they had a feeling" is one of my personal experiences.  I was driving from my house to my office one night.  When I ran over a speed bump my tag light wiggled loose and shorted out my right tail light.  I pulled over and replaced the fuse when the waring light came on.  It blew again immediate but since I was less than a block away I decided to go ahead and drive there.  The street cuts across the university campus and I passed a University Police car (they are state police here) and saw it go up and turn around.  I continued to drive the speed limit and parked behind my building to use the back door. 

I was locking my car when the police car came up with lights flashing.  I was told to step away from the car.  They used flashlights and looked all around in my car for a reason to search it.  They asked why I was parked behind the building and I explained my office was there and that I was also a part owner of the night club next door.  I am registered with the county as a license holder for the club and suggested they look it up.  They were convinced I was hiding from them behind the building.  They ran a complete background check on me and had we wait with hands on my head for hour while all of the background information came in.  In the end they gave me a ticket for a broken tail light.  They wanted to search the car and I said OK (knowing I had cameras from the club covering the back lot) but they didn't search it.

Over the next 2 weeks I was stopped on foot and on bike while on the city street that cuts though campus by the same two cops.  Each time they did the whole search, id check and intimidating talk.  On the third stop I said I would prefer to be questioned at their department building on tape with my attorney present and did the name drop thing (my business partner has one of the university buildings named after him).  That ended me being questioned.

This is NOT how I want the police to act.  It should not be "guilty until proven innocent."  The police work for us as citizens.  They are not the elite of society.  Now I know there are plenty of good police officers -- I'm sure way more good than bad.  It's the attitude of "getting" someone that I don' like.  It's also the loss of rights that we have given up in order to feel protected.  When we give up some of our rights, even for the right reason, there will always be some asshole to abuse their new loophole.

Actually, Aynne I don't know what you read but I never claimed to be "hot". Im fact in the post 67 of the "do good looking people scare you" thread I said

"Don't sell yourself short, its a matter of confidence. Women dig confidence. I am 40 years old and average looking at best - but never have a problem finding a gorgeous blonde who is legal but not even old enough to buy a beer to warm my bed."

The "overaged middle school girl" comment was not implying she was "too old" but rather that she was too old to be playing the middle school game of throwing around the "gay insult". That's a 6th, 7th, 8th grade tactic to get back at the kid they dont like and not a behaviour one would expect from a mature adult - esp in a community where all orientations should be accepted.

I do not have a picture on my profile because membership in a site of this type or being known to be in any way "non vanilla" could cause some issues for me professionally. However, I will send you a photo privately. You wont be impressed, and will undoubtedly have some smart comment but thats fine... I am an acquired taste - many people like me, many dont and thats fine with me because there is a whole ocean full of fish out there and more being born daily and Ill still be fishing in 18 years when they are legal :) 

As for kit's appearance - yes she is aesthetically pleasing but I require more than aesthetics.  I think her constant sniping and personal insults at at someone shes never so much as spoken a word to or exchanged an IM or e-mail with with speaks volumes, and the "gay" insult was a total turn off to me for the reasons detailed earlier in this thread. Being "gay" / lesbian / bi or transgendered (of which I am none) shouldnt be an insult to be thrown at those you dont like. LadyEllen had her differences with me, but had the class to settle them in a single e-mail in which we both developed a better understanding of the others position and an agreement to disagree on some things. That exhibits class and maturity...

I also agree with Lady E that while I disagree with DA on most issues, he seems to be ok, just not someone I would hang out with. I'm sure he would feel the same, but, as he says, he has friends of his own that he is simpatico with.

Sooo... before mod 11 stops in to say "Enough children" ( don't y'all just love when she does  that ?) why don't we all just agree to disagree and move on ?
