oh i HATE you're overreacting.

i'm not a fan of 'i'm not sure why ___ is such a big deal just because you asked.' as in i'm not sure it's such a big deal that i didn't take you to x or y because you asked even though finals almost killed you this semester.

and i generally hate being compared to ex submissives, because if that submissive was such a great submissive then why did you take me on? as in, my ex sub used to be SOOOOOOO thin and now she looks like you. gee thanks. not only do i feel disgustingly huge, i feel like i can't at least monentarily trust you when you tell me you think i'm attractive and i think that you may actually think that i'm stupid for not noticing the fact that i'm not thin by the time i reached 23. if you wanted a thin submissive you came to the wrong girl. or 'well she just got a pony get up' or 'she used to let me do x or y'...

Although not a submissive, this thread caught my eye on the scroll. A few pet peeves, in order of what I detest:


(a) "Mistress" - If I hear this one more time, I think I will commit murder in a red rage. I ~despise~ this title with every shred of my being. It's so generic and impersonal. Not to mention that it implies whichever female you're slapping it on is secondary to your wife, girlfriend, significant other, etc.

(b) Any stranger calling me "Goddess". It's a personal title that my submissive uses in intimate or scene related activities. No one else is permitted to do so unless they have earned the right. So far? No one has, nor do I for see them being granted that boon anytime soon.

(c) "Do you XXX?" - I could care less than a rat's ass about your fetishes. I don't list a single one in my profile. I wish to be viewed as a human being first and a dominant second. Objectifying me into your fetish with a pulse is very insulting.

(d) "Here's my XXX (insert instant messenger or non CM email of choice).  Please contact me and I can provide any answers/photographs you require there." BZZZT. Wrong! I'm so not wasting my valuable time. Either get your cojones up and do it here or begone. I'm not letting you have my personal email in a first contact off site.

(e) Real, true, 24/7, no limits, etc. These adjectives have been done to death. They've lost any meaning they could possibly have in this lifestyle.

If any others occur to me at a later time, I'll chime in again.

The whole calling me Mistress off the bat when it is someone from online... I am a Domme... but not your Domme.. and certainly not your Mistress...

It to me.. is akin to walking up to someone and saying hey babe... You just dont do it.. it is rude. *Guh!*

I still address older people as Ma'am and Sir. I was raised.

I dislike people using double negatives. "I Aint never seen that before"

The "word" Stupider... It doesnt exist.. even more stupid.. I always come back with "Is that a new moon of Jupiter?" ~ Stupider *rolls her eyes*

I do not alow my um to use slang, or many conjunctions.

Terms of endearments bandied about by people who hardly or do not even know you.

Of course the "True" and "Real" crap drive me nuts.

I still don't know how the f to pronounce domme. I'll stick with one prononciation, and then someone else will get on my butt for saying it wrong.

I've pronounced it "Dom" "Dom-may".... I think now I'll just stick for alpha bitch and see how that works out for everyone. gawd.

I have only heard this once, and was shocked into speechlessness. We had developed a great connection; before he even met me he had  invited me to a Renaissance faire (I was busy); we had BOTH broken our own rules about proper behavior at an initial meeting, but because we had had a scene I was suddenly relegated to the position of someone with whom he was unwilling to socialize?.
 
Upon considerable reflection about his emotional state at the time I realize that it was not about his devaluing me (actually, the problem was the opposite), but it was still completely unacceptable.
 
Now my response would be,   "F*** you!"
 
Of course, I'm a switch, not a sub. Maybe that has something to do with it.
