Thanks KittenSol, i never thought of it like that. Perhaps it is time to give it another chance. i do agree that it was visually appealing.

Roselaure -> RE: Good movies you Hate (5/18/2008 6:06:20 PM)

Chariots of Fire  (a bunch of English guys running around in baggy underwear)
Unforgiven (Hmmm...good people are not all good and bad people are not all bad, thank you Mr. Obvious)
American Beauty (Don't know why exactly, just HATED IT)

lronitulstahp -> RE: Good movies you Hate (5/18/2008 6:11:33 PM)

Moulin Rouge...i could barely stand 15 mins of it

DomMeinCT -> RE: Good movies you Hate (5/18/2008 6:11:51 PM)

The Accidential Tourist = what an accident it was to ever watch this

The Unbearable Lightness of Being = unbearable to watch all the way through

[:D]

kittinSol -> RE: Good movies you Hate (5/18/2008 6:13:51 PM)

I just remembered, I went to see Iron Man to please my husband because everybody's been going on about how great it is. My arse! It positively SUCKED rofl!

That was a well written first post for a worthy comment.[:)]

This is in response to TNstepsout's comment about hating the film Forest Gump. She says that the whole movie was about a " retard living out a fantasy in his head'. First of all, it is a shameful thing to refer to people who are mentally challenged in such derogatory terms. In view of the unenlightened state of your comment ( you really see things at less than the first degree - even my at the time ten year old got that it was a powerful and poignant critique of recent American history and society) I can only assume that you are not particularly intelligent yourself. But unlike the character tha Tom Hanks portrayed , neither do you posess the kindness , tolerance, moral uprightness and joy that he did. And as for for your last statement " Most of the movies I hated, everyone else did too' - one, who is everyone, and did you make a survey? and also does this not belie the incredible success this film had around the world? Why do you not try to see the film a few more times. You might just get it.

Aynne -> RE: Good movies you Hate (5/18/2008 6:20:16 PM)

Oh wow I absolutely love love love David Lynch films.  Titanic sucked, that seems to be common, and most big box office releases and 99% of horror movies and comedies.

David Lynch films, notably Erasurehead and Muholland Dr. I can never get into them, whatever the message is it is just too ambiguous for me.

abqowner -> RE: Good movies you Hate (5/18/2008 6:23:47 PM)

Fargo.  Great cast, great crew, interesting story.  I HATED it.  Still couldn't tell you why.

Raising Arizona - the first time I saw it I wanted to claw my eyes out.  But it's one of my favorites now.

2001.  I love sci fi, but this one did nothing for me.  Though if you say "Dave" in a certain way, it will creep me out.

DrkJourney -> RE: Good movies you Hate (5/18/2008 6:34:52 PM)

ok, now don't hate, but I just hated The Wizard of Oz.  My dad would drag us in front of the tv every year to watch that thing.  I was just bored shitless.

And thank goodness someone else hated Napolean Dynamite.  Everyone at work goes around quoting lines and stuff...my bubble headed receptionist printed out all these pics from the movie and had the nerve to put one in my office of him with a stupid lama...anyone want to guess where that pic is now?.....lol  almost sent her in right behind it...lol

Oh God, get a grip. It's a movie. Doncha know it's easy for characters in movies to be kind, tolerant and joyful? They don't have to put up with people calling them unintelligent because they disagree with their opinion.   *rolls  eyes*

It could have been phrased better. I don't always say things well, though, and I think TN's a decent person, all in all.

Thanks Level. Yes, perhaps I could have said it better, but the whole damn thing just pissed me off.  Besides, I like to be consice. *g*

love "Blue Velvet" ! In fact, it's time to watch it again. Thanks for the reminder. If ya don't like "Blue Velvet", ya should be made to give up your BDSM party membership card, imho.

Daddysredhead -> RE: Good movies you Hate (5/19/2008 7:09:57 AM)

I know a lot of people love them, but I detest all shows, movies, etc. of the Sci-Fi genre.  Therefore, I hate all Star Wars, all Star Trek, all Battlestar Gallactica, Alien, and anything else remotely similar.  The only thing I can bear to watch is ET.

Roselaure -> RE: Good movies you Hate (5/19/2008 7:13:48 AM)

I love Blue Velvet.  Easily one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen.  Freaked me out for days the first time I saw it.  I love that feeling...

Ahhhh...Thank you. Mulholland Falls. Ok, same thing. I can take or leave the movie. But I loved the clothes.
