I don't know the history to which Frenchpet refers in this case either, but do know that the men I've know who have seemed strong/protective of their ladies (including my late dad) walked on the outside in relation to his lady; I personally don't care unless the man I am out with shows he knows it and prefers it that way. M

This is not an oxymoron at all. Most of us appreciate someone who is not an asshole in a black vest. Being a gentleman, should you choose to be one, is just that: YOUR choice.

As an example of a Dominant gentleman: Sir Stephen is the Master half of the International Master/slave 2005 titleholder couple. He is Lord of his Victorian household, doesn't wear leather and is a perfect gentleman. He is an extremely nice, caring and open individual. An excellent role model.
