ORIGINAL: GreedyTop I agree.. to a certain degree. I'd like to think that I could say what I needed to say face to face. But I find that, in a relationship, sometimes it is easier for me to write things out and then present it to my partner. Writing stuff forces me to THINK about what I want to say, then phrase it well... something I am not always able to do when face to face ( and that's for good stuff and bad stuff). Sometimes, for me, emotions get in the way of the meaning /intent of my words, so writing allows me a filter so that there is less chance of the emotions clouding the issue. That sums up My exact thoughts about a diary/journal/blog .... not so much what is written but that it requires that internal examination of the thoughts, feelings and ideas inside oneself. It's also an oppotunity to express things that can simply be forgotten in the heat of a moment. For Me there are mental images that I'm unable to decipher until I've sat and thought about what they mean to Me. Personally I don't keep a journal or diary, but then My email outbox is normally full of things that have been bouncing around and my sub gets the pleasure (or anticipation/fear/concern) of reading those through the day.
