Somehow I doubt that the lines spoken about old Ted could ever sink to the lows that I witnessed so many on the left slither to while Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy suffered so much.  I know I could never sink that low, and though I have no use for Ted Kennedy I don't despise him nearly enough to wish his family any heartache - I know how hard that can be.

There were feminist groups that celebrated when Reagan died just because of his views on abortion.

But the far-left does that type of thing to even their own though as well...Remember Paul Wellstone's funeral? They turned that into a DNC pep-rally.

Cyber, I was going to use that as an example too.
I'm not a Democrat but even I was embarrassed for them after that fiasco!

I am sure there are plenty of people, left and right, who secretly or openly celebrate the suffering and deaths of other human beings they despise. No one here is going to prove that this behaviour is confined to republicans or democrats so why don't those who are attempting to make such an association just sit back with a big steaming cup of shut-the-fuck-up for a change.

Thank you.

Z.

I don't hate him. I am merely stating my belief that he has earned a bit of karmic payback.

My other statement actually means exactly what it says.  I admired JFK from my studies of history. His other slain brother also seemed a worthy sort to lead the country.  They were both taken from us too soon.

As for peeing on his grave, puhlease.  What a collossal waste of my resources it would be to drive there for a public urination charge.

Jeez, I guess that's what caused the death of a friend of mine. And what, tens of thousands of others? Payback and not a brain tumor.

I fly the bs flag on that one.

Approximately 5 minutes of a 3 hour or so funeral were taken up by a political rant.  And remember how there supposedly was an incredibly loud mass of booing when Cheney was shown?  BS again.  I heard that, and it was scattered booing (you could hardly even hear it on the broadcast)...and Cheney laughed about it at the time.

People die every single second of every single day.  He is no more special than anyone else.  I don't give him a second thought since he doesn't affect my life in any way.

It wouldn't matter to me if he was hit by car, assassinated, killed by an errant foul ball at a Red Sox game, or died the death of some kind of brain aneurism - It's time for Ed to go......And more importantly....its time for all the good ole' boys to go who've been complicit, stood-by and sold their souls at the highest levels of management while this country has been run into the ground.

tsk tsk, isn't that a pity.  paybacks are a bitch and karma has a way of making sure you get what you deserve, not necessarily what you want.  ah well, we all pay a price for living, and that's dying.

Yay bipolarber! I was thinkng the exact same thing. If karma is a bitch, Bush is in for the cosmic payback of all time. Bastard.  I am loving all of the "compassionate conservatism" I am seeing on this thread..so typical.

Yeah, how DARE Ted Kennedy stand accused of things never proven?

How DARE he stand up for minority rights all these years?
How DARE he be one of the primary leaders in trying to get the ERA passed in the 70's?
How DARE he have a career made out of actions for people to live as they see fit?
How DARE he make sure kids have an education...
How DARE he stand up for fiscal responsibility?
How DARE he oppose this "cakewalk" in Iraq?

Why couldn't he be more like George Bush?
Bush, who told us there were WMD in them thar hills...
Bush, who's war has killed 4,000 Americans, and perhaps as many as 250,000 Iraqi civilians?
Bush, who robbed from the poor, so he could give to the rich?
Bush, who wanted our kids to be taught Creationisim (now called I.D.) in science classes...
Bush, who banned the research to cure Parkinsons, Alzheimers, and a myriad of other dieseses, just to satisfy the religious nutcase wing of the GOP...
Bush, who swiftboated a 12 year old because the S-CHIP program helped him and his family avoid financial ruin, and save his life.

If you ask me, the wrong guy has the brain tumor.

Thorn, its funny that I mention one person and suddenly I am saying ALL people with brain tumors deserve it.  Try reading in english next time because its the only language I type in.  I am talking about Ted Kennedy, not ANYONE ELSE.  .

I also know good people who have died of bad things including brain tumors and cancer.  It doesn't change the fact that some people have a serious karmic debt to pay.  I'll even go so far as to admit that my grandfather probably deserved a lot of the pain he felt as he was passing.  The man was a mean bigot and a violent drunk.   Of course, he was still my grandpa and it still hurt to watch.  Having been there, my sympathy does go out to the Kennedy family.

Fast, general reply addressed to a handful of posters.

Thing is, it's not very good for your karma to rejoice over the bad karma of others, is it? Isn't compassion key to karma? Just curious.

I haven't said "YAY!! HE'S DYING!" one single time have I?  There is no sorrow for him or happiness that he's suffering.  There is no compassion nor hatred.  I do wonder what things Bobby or John would have accomplished if they had been the surviving brother, hence my earlier statement.

Oh, and I am not allowed to be a conservative.  Pagans are not welcome among them. I agree with some of their views but I also occassionally agree with even Kitten.

It's not, "Yay!  He's dying!"  It's, "I knew it something like that was coming."  Have you seen a recent picture of him?  He looks like a commercial for portable defibrillators.

Yes, he has had life touched by great tragedies, but also one of great power and wealth.  He's pretty much reached the average life expectancy, and will have a level of care far beyond anything he ever offered the taxpayers.  I caught a little blurb on the evening news that he might be racing his 50 foot sloop this weekend.

Now, THAT is actually the coolest thing I've ever heard about him.  So many people would be home moping but he's gonna be out having fun.  THAT I can respect.

Ted actually tried to do good things for people-whether a lot of us liked how he went about it of not.. And that is more than you can say for about 95% of the human race.

It makes me sad when people like him leave us.
