I have my doubts about the last two words, there. as far as i can tell, watching male family memebers when i was growing up, you catch fish, you don't catch fish - kind of an act of God there - but the men never seem to care much, one way or another, about that part. i think they liked the drinking beer part, mostly. LOL. It depends. I know guys that take it VERY seriously. They go out and buy every gadget you can think of. Depth finders, all sorts of different lures, different lines, a dozen different rods and reels. I myself have managed to accumulate probably 1000 dollars worth of crap in my tackle box. But I usually go with the old bucket of worms or crickets. I have a really expensive fly rod that I have never used. I keep telling myself I am going to use it, but I don't. But back to your point, I usually catch a few when I go out. I don't keep most of them, but that's not the point of recreational fishing.
