As a novice here I dont know which one is correct. I am a soft butch lesbian. I am definitely the dominant one in all things.
So would I be a Dom or Domme? What is the difference? Any help would be appreciated

The only difference is spelling, really. Dom is typically a man, Domme a woman, but there is no "rule". I refer to myself as a Dom as often as I do a Domme. I am just dominant, regardless of the tag.

Whichever you prefer :) There's also Femdom (to distinguish you as a female, not to imply you're not butch *grin). Top is another..

butch are usually Syr.  (y instead of i due to being female born) but you are not likely male id'd.  since you said "soft".  so i would just use "dom" dom is universal to me...  D/s = dom/sub

Domme is a made up internet word that makes a lot of people cringe in despair.  If you use it, know that it is pronounced exactly the same as "dom"

Dom is a shortened form of dominant, so it applies no matter sex or gender.
