Status: offline 		Wouldnt it be ironic if the aliens were all pagans, and the only reason they got to us before we got to them, was because the Christian Church had suppressed all the stuff the Greeks and Romans knew and had killed anyone who spoke about them for over a thousand years?

Nonsense! The Israelites built the pyramids, as slaves! The Church says so - so it must be true!

Although of course - that does perhaps make possible the designation of "God's Chosen People" and explain why the Jews have always been viewed with suspicion- theyre aliens from outer space!!!!

I love this bit of sarcasm.  Just about every historian out there has seen this theory disproven.  They may have built something as slaves but it sure wasn't the pyramids. 
I think that they were used to build the first Taco Bell in Egypt.  Of course it was subsequently burned down to make room for a mall.

Status: offline 		Just a thought. If the Vatican astronomer pronounces that its OK to believe in extra terrestrials, presumably his pronouncement was authorised by the Pope?

Given that the Pope is infallible, his authorisation of such a pronouncement surely implies that extra terrestrials exist? The Vatican thereby becomes the first state in the world to admit to the existence of extra terrestrials, and because the Pope says they exist it becomes surely an article of faith in that denying it goes against the Pope?

Does anyone know enough latin to be able to translate "phone home" for use in this Sunday's mass?
