Source.. Out-Law.com I would point out that only a minority of their users who are 36 or under are sex offenders, but they can't tell which ones those are either. I think they need to delete those accounts also, think of the children! Most of the people they claim they are trying to clear out LIE ABOUT THEIR AGES claiming to be in the age of the intended victims. That is a proven fact from many many prosecutions. Unfortunately a number of people who haven't lied about their age and details, and who should've known better have communicated with people under 16 (or 18/21 depending on country, state etc), have got too close and have been stupid enough to end up in a relationship. This is true for both men and women, though prosecution wise there are considerably fewer ladies to the men. The fact that faceparty and most of the mass media seem to kepp ignoring is that 95% of child sex offences take place within the family! There are not 1000's of paedophiles out there trawling the internet. I have seen the official Home Office, now Ministry of Justice figures which support this. Currently there is a hot spot for men in their late 40's and 50's for most sex crimes, but with child sex crimes the ages range now from 16 (yes I kid you not) through to the people in their 80's. Unfortunately our now enlightenned government has decided that a lad of 16 who has a sexual encounter with a girl of 15 who may even be in the same year in school, possibly the same tutor group is now a dangerous offender! I will go into how ludicrious this is but it'll ruin that lads life for the rest of his life! It would be quite simple for the creaters of these websites to write software that stops people under a certain age communicating with people older. Lots of social networking sites manage this, so why can't faceparty? I was speaking to a lot of old school friends through faceparty but now we as a group have decided to leave en-masse, we've sent them a stinking email which has not only serving police officers signing it, but solicitors, a barrister, one high court judge, lots of businessmen and women, and a hell of a lot of people with families. All faceparty have managed to do is piss off 2563 people in one hit. They have emailed back the sex offender drivel, but one of our number is psychologist who works with trying to deal with serious sex offenders and he has told faceparty what a load of old twaddle they are spouting. If the professionals who are there trying to deal with the problem think faceparty are talking crap then I for one totally agree with them. As faceparty is facing stiff competition from superior social networking sites and as noted they are re-launching thsi to me and my friends is nothing more than a cynical cheap publicity tool. I now hope that it blows up in their faces.
