Hot Topic is a store that sells "alternative" clothing (i.e. what every teen is wearing)

DC, Hot Topic is a store that sells a lot of goth-wear, lots of music T-shirts, and is where I got my Bette Page keychain.  Thing 1 LOVES Hot Topic.  The clerks there always seem a little bewildered when I go in and they ask if I am looking for something in particular for my kid, and I smile slyly and say, "No... for me."  [;)]

my best shirts are either custom made or from JC penny :P
though I have gotten quite a few good ones from Here (they're even local!)

Thanks, y'all, for explaining Hot Topic. My sense of fashion ended when Worth closed up shop in Paris.

Hot Topic aintbad, for a mall store
the problem I have is that eveytime I see a design I want, I start mentally thinking of how to make it, and how much less it would cost

Eh, I'm not that big a fan of Hot Topic - the clerks always give me funny looks, since I'm old enough to be their parent, despite the fact that I'm heavily tattooed, have blue and purple streaks in my hair, etc.  I always wanna snap "What, kid, ain't ya never been taught to Respect Yer Elders?"

If I'm gonna get strange looks from people due to how I look, I'd rather deal with the strange looks from people that aren't young enough to be my children.  (Just because I Am a 42 yr old soccer mom doesn't mean I have to Look like a 42 yr old soccer mom, damnit!)

just ask em why they arent in school, its what I would do (though the worst i've encountered at a Hot Topic so far was a manager very willing to give me anything in the store, if I blew him in the dressig room... I didnt need pants THAT badly :P)

Vertex, which is the closest thing to a goth club in Rochester, had a DJ that would occasionally sneak a traditional Polish Polka in with the regular music.

There were always a few people so drunk on the dance floor, I don't think they even noticed.

Also, my long military dress coat I wear there is green. Throws everyone off. I used ot wear black all the time, but it's not because I am gothic or dark, just fashion impaired. Black always goes with black...

I miss one thing about Hot topic. They used to have a section of bitterness and sarcasm T-shirts, but as they got more corporate, those went away.

*sighs*  Rochester is a bit larger than Binghamton... all we have here is hic bars... *grumbles*

I like Hot Topic the way I like Spencers Gifts.. every now and again I find something unique... toy wise, a key chain or rubber ducky... but clothing?  nope, I'll leave that to the emos and the 12 year olds that they cater to.. mall store, that about sums it up.

Oh.. but that store in Utah?  I quickly looked at the site and decided that I love their sense of flair.

Haha, there's a goth club in Tampa I attended a couple times with an ex of mine, amonxt all of the super serious trenchcoated greasy teens, there was a guy in a pink skirt, bra, and a pretty decent wig, flailing around wildly on the dance floor. THAT is the best thing to do at a goth club, imo. I had to go out there and flail around with him, best fun I ever had at that club, haha.

My favorite thing to do in goth clubs used to be...

Take advantage of the gullible, moody little wicca girls; very few are more easily manipulated than someone who really needs to believe in something.
