Meanwhile, beth and I are going to sneak in some bowling practice before today's Memorial Day tournament.

Yeah. You're going to need that practice because anyone under the age of 7 is going to kick your ass. My youngest grandson is the Grand Champion in the house, consistantly getting scores in the neighborhood of 280 and has several dozen 300 games under his belt. I think it may have something to do with his low center of gravity.

Good luck!

Celeste

I am very glad that your happy with your purchase, personally I wouldn't have a wii if they handed it to me on a silver platter and then slid $50 bucks in the box!

Nintendo is a great company they had a tremendous product, however they decided on a game that would appeal to all the "Mother Organizations" out there. So they could say "See we are making your kid get off the couch and do something"

I don't want something that is interactive, I buy video games for primarly but not exclusivly two reason 1) mindless violence 2) to relieve boredom.

I want a game that offers me a challenge, not a game that I have to devote 40+ hours to hone my reflexes to just get past the first level. If I take the better part of a weekend to get past stage one then guess what? Back to the Store it goes and I find something else off the used pile!

I lost interest the first time I played one of their "realistic" games that involved sword fighting.  There was no resemblance to actually swinging a blade whatsoever.  I really began to dislike the wii when I had to start training people who thought the two were the same.  As for the health benefits side, I can kick my kid out to play in the yard for free.

Are there any 'lifestyle' versions where the controller is used as a flogger?

If there are (and there probably are) then they are japanese, check with an import store, a lot of the ones here do special requests for games... or check the internet, there are lots of fetish-friendly japanese games... I just cant think of the titles (usd to own an arcade game that instead of a joystick had a paddle and a soft cushy plastic ass)

I just wanna see what the little Merc wii guy looks like.

LOL...it's eery how much it looks like Him...!

Hahahaha.  I can only imagine.  He has that "look" that seems easy to make into a caricature.  I'm sure he was a very sexy little wii guy though.

Well I am not suprised in the slightest, The Japanese are all serious perverts because their whole society is sexually repressed. I mean come on, you have a society that says its illegal to look at a photo of a naked woman, but perfectly acceptable to draw a photo of a naked woman???

I have a Japanese video game called Kuno which has to be the scariest thing that I've ever played. I mean this thing is totally terrifying, and VERY Japanese (Meaning they perform japanese shinto rituals, mirror their mythology about spirits and deamons to perfection).

Daddy and I have had fun playing Zelda and Smash Bros. (although, i think i like smash bros a little better than he does since i know i can beat him at it...)

Even though only one person can play Zelda at a time, we kinda take turns. When he's playing, my job is navigator and when i'm playing, he'll help navigate and then take over when i'm grumbling with frustration because i'm lost or stuck or dying continually.

Enjoy the Wii. we have a great time with it!

Yeah, they make some of the best and worse games there are, Xplay has a segment on almost every show called "Made In Japan" where they look at odd games coming out there

lolol-one of the ladies that works for me got her kid one of these.  they now fight over it!

and she hates it cause the kid can beat her in bowling, even when the kid does some of her turns from in the bathroom.  it has been fun hearing her wii tales every day since they got it.  i just hope they dont fight when theyre both home for the summer.

enjoy!

Thanks for the information and good thoughts.

Bowling and golf are a lot of fun; so much so we have games we haven't even opened yet. I tried the 'Tiger Woods' version of golf and can imagine loosing a lot of hours playing Pebble Beach.

We have a little 'Pot Luck & Play Party' scheduled for June with our South Bay munch group. I wouldn't be surprised if the 'play' turns out to be Wii?!
