According to Buddhism, the glass , as all "things", are simply not "me" or "mine". It is the existence of what we think of as the "self" that Buddhism questions. All phenomena are constantly changing and impermanent, including the "heap" ( according to Buddhism ) of phenomena that we call our "selves". And, imo, if you look closely, you will find the Buddha was correct.

There is no glass Cjan, because the glass is made of other things - it is a collection of parts, none of which are a glass. In the same way there is no such thing as a car, just a collection of parts which we describe as a car. We could take the car apart into all its parts and then we'd no longer call it a car, yet all the parts would be present just as they were when they were producing the illusion of a self existent car, and none of the parts would be a car. If the car has no inherent existence - because it relies on its parts for its existence - and none of the parts is a car, then the car does not have inherent existence. Similar with us - am I my finger? No. Am I my head? No. I am not any part of me, but a collection of parts which I describe as me. Since I am a collection of parts upon which me relies to exist, and none of my parts are me, me has no inherent existence. Who then suffers? Who yearns? No one. E
