I think this idea goes both ways. For me, feet are of primary importance and shoes, aside from aesthetic appreciation from a fashion perspective, derive their value mostly from the foot and the person to whom they belong.

When its the time of the month that his tongue can't be used in more obvious places. I will put Dainty into puppy mode and have him lick my shoes and then my bare feet. It makes me feel worshipped at a time when I feel yucky plus it keeps his tongue muscles strong. Other than that its nothing special for me.
