This excerpt from a Wendell Berry poem is a part of what perfection might be.  Of course, it doesn't specifically relate to submission, but it is germane:

Our bond is no little economy based on the exchange
of my love and work for yours, so much for so much
of an expendable fund.  We don't know what its limits are --
that puts us in the dark.


This pretty much says it all.  Still, I'll add that I think it important to replenish the "fund".  It's a good thing there are so many ways to do this for your partner - to make deposits on someone else's behalf, as it were.

What I am suggesting is to transcend the fiduciary, to be so comfortable and so unguarded that you open yourself to the other person and stop counting. 

What would it be like to add and not keep track, to know that you would be replenished without checking the level of the stores?  I've had that before, and I think I'll have that again.  I hope you get to experience that kind of perfection.  (smiling)

You get major bonus points for the Wendell Berry poem. I've always been a fan of his. My personal favorite started with the line "My gentle hill, I rest beside you in the dark, in a place warmed by my body"...and I'll be damned if I can remember the rest of it.

Now I'll have to go digging through my books in storage!

I'm glad you appreciated it.  I first found him through an essay of his that he wrote after 9/11.  He is so sane, so ethical, so whole-hearted -- Wendell Berry is in my private pantheon of gods.

Ironically, your home used to be my home too until about 5-1/2 years ago.  Were it not for the UM's being here, I wouldn't be very likely to stay in the DFW area. [;)]

There is no perfect sub, or slave. there is no perfect Mistress or Master. There is no perfect human. That said a sub /slave can be perfect for someone, but not for someone else. If my sub/puts me before all others I am most pleased and everything else will fall into place.
