This isn't a cart for humans to pull.  However, a human or two COULD pull this cart, just like a human (okay an "in shape" human) can push a volkswagon which is out of gas half a mile to a gas station. Won't be fun, but it can be done.  ... the science is sound that it can be done.

I'm with fungasm (and her earlier posts in this thread) who seems to be the only person who knows what she's talking about.

When I can't be arsed to start the engine I push my (very large and very heavy) car out of the garage to get at stuff. And I'm definitely not "in shape". The cart illustrated? A piece of piss compared to a car.

Sure you wouldn't/couldn't pull it uphill, sure you wouldn't want an idiot on the brakes on a downhill slope, but on level ground in a sensible ponyplay location, what fun (hard work to get it moving, but fun) and how elegant. It somehow oozes sexiness; add an elegant and beautiful girl pony and how pleasing! Pop two in the shafts and pure heaven.  [sm=smile.gif]

A single person of the right strength could pull this cart. i know i could pull it, i'm a competitive strength athlete. the problem would not be in pulling it, the problem would be in being able to pull it for sustained periods of time, being able to turn it would be impossible even for someone as strong as i am, at least safely.
Not to mention that it would take considerable modification to be able to safely harness a human pony into this, stopping would be a recipe for disaster as well. With the weight of this cart, if something does go wrong, the pony is in for very severe injury, and  is in fact risking death.
i've done alot of pulling in my life, and am capable of some serious strength, and in the BDSM world, i do not have much in the way of hardlimits, but i think this cart would cause me to balk.
i love the idea of pony play, and would really like to give it a shot though. Anybody local to me that would want a 300 LB personal Clydesdale?? :)

Quarter horses average about 1100 pounds as opposed to the draft breeds of nearly a ton which are usually used for pleasure driving. Assuming that a horse can comfortably pull half its weight, about 500 pounds, yeah that's way too heavy for one person. You would be better off having a team of 4 or six people pulling.

You don't assume a horse pulls half his weight, unless you are talking about a horse pulling dead weight (like a stump out of the ground) and even that can be altered by the proper application of pulleys, levers, and other simple machines.

The reason one horse can pull a buggy with x-number of humans in it has nothing to do with the weight of the horse (assuming it's a full grown healthy horse), and more to do with things like simple machines (like the wheel and axel), momentum, and applications of pull as it translates into pounds of applied force.

I think if I add more math or physics to this forum I'll be beaten and not in the fun way, so I'll only add this:  If you think how much you weigh matters when it comes to how much you can do, you need to go back to your physics class.

PS.  Thank you Sundowner.

I have to admit fungasm, for you dear, I would most definetely give it a shot at pulling that cart. Somebody like you with the reigns and whip in hand would really make me want to get that thing moving.
I think I'm going to have to come up with some workouts that would get me ready for pony play, what a fun dimension that could add to my submissive nature. I've already got the strength for days to be able to excel at it, I think working on the endurance needed for such fun play would be a great way to get started.
I think things such as diet and proper exercise would be VERY important in this type of play, due to the amount of work a pony does.

Thank you darling!

I'm not one for this type of play, but you make me consider it with a definite smile!
