As if nothing else is wrong in the world, Cheney telling a joke has brought out both side, "denouncing" his joke.
Can't they find ANYTHING better to do, like lowering our gas prices, than to denouce a joke???

"So I had Cheneys on both sides of the family — and we don't even live in West Virginia," Cheney joked. "You can say those things when you're not running for re-election."

"(Obama would) probably be fearful I might whisper in his ear and change his whole view of the Middle East," Cheney said.

        Now this line is funny.

Cheney's 'joke' is offensive and he should be called on it....there's plenty of time to address the issues of the day while still taging our VP for such stupid azz statements.

I suppose we should forgive him for his lapse in taste. After all, he's been such a credit to the office so far. I mean, it's not like he's shot anyone or anything...

It's a joke.  Lighten up and learn to laugh.

There's that word aghain, "offensive".
"There's no such thing as the Mafia and I find it "offensive" to Italian Americans everywhere."

If the OP is so concerned about not wasting her precious time with irrelevant things like a dickhead like Cheney making some dickhead remark, which is all the man is able to do anyway, I see little point to her thread. Perhaps those of you who advise others to 'ligthen up' should take a page from your own book. If you don't like hearing the reactions... don't listen to them.

Why? I'm not asking other people to stop giving a shit about something that matters to them and moaning about it. I never pretended I didn't care.

Buh bye.

It just makes me wonder about his judgement in saying such a thing... It is not the joke that I care about but that it shows his poor judgement... I guess I should not be surprised he has been showing poor judgement for years.

It's not acceptable for somebody in such a high position of power to make jokes of that nature, especially in a public setting. Cheney belongs in a circus - as you say, such poor judgement is kind of worrying. Perhaps he's suffering from some kind of dementia.

Kittin, were you *"Offended"* by Cheney's remark?
"Start running! I hear banjo music!"
And if Senator Robert "Sheets" Bird reacted the way he did.....why so sensitive?

I'm not offended by Cheney's remark, but I find it amusing that the OP took the time to rant and express being offended that some people were offended and that it was all a waste of her time. If you get my drift  .

Cheney: how can such a clown be your vice-president?

No, kittin, Cheney is not the one suffering from dementia.

They're all in office or running for office, unfortunately.

Oh wait, Bill Clinton isn't!

Neither is Hillary now. I guess even the democrats are sick of the Clintons. Maybe thats the last we will see of them.
