in wanting a 'cap' on the number of threads a person can create in a single day? I know, I know, before you say it, horses for courses, I can take it/or leave it. It's just a pain in the arse to see what amounts to as spamming on the boards.

i agree....it seems there are some who start threads just for the sake of starting them. It would help if they used the search feature to see if the topic has already been covered.

Absolutely!! There is one person who has started copious threads on the most inane of subjects. It bugs me because I don't get to see the other juicy threads on the scroll.

I understand a person's exuberance at first joining a site or taking that first plunge on the boards, but we have the Introduce Yourself/Say Hi section to cover that. I do think it would be helpful if there was a limit as to the number of threads a person could create in a day - perhaps it would stimulate deeper thought? Good point about the search feature, perhaps that should be placed as a 'sticky' (if it hasn't already been) in the introductory section of the boards.

Thanks, Holly.

I suspect that dealing with such issues is mod business.

As for me: I have got 38 people on my hidden list.

I'm sure the moderators listen to public opinion and offer suggestions to the site's administrators, or am I being naive?

Rule, if you hide a member does that also include their posts?

I doubt I've ever dazzled anyone with moments of sheer brilliance, I'm happy to lurk and if someone thinks I've said something of merit I become titillated in all the right places

Don't stop flirting, I like it! Thank you for the compliment.

Rule should answer my question, think I should create another thread to catch his attention?

The people on my hidden list are those of whom I have hidden their posts. Mostly people that use illegible font, a couple with a logical disfunction that causes them to interpret posts other than as it was intended thus precluding effective communication and inadvertently causing disagreements, various disagreeable people, and some evil subs. Most of them do not post anymore, so I suspect they either got bored and left or had their ass kicked out by mod11.

Thank you for answering, you're a gentleman. I know that on the 'other side' as it's affectionately referred to there is a 'hidden user' function and I wondered whether, should it be used, that a hidden profile author's posts would also be hidden.

I'm guilty of that in the "Humor" section.......or I WAS guilty of that in the beginning. I haven't posted there in a while since folks on the Polls/Stupidity Board keep me busy w/their inane chatter! Hi Holl-parts, pp, Lrf, Angelika, how are you??

Inane chatter is it? Keep ya busy, do I? Hmmmmmppphhh, and you're still coming up for the wedding? I'm fine, thank you very much - enjoying a beautiful soft, gentle rain here in Ontario. Now if only Lumus were here with me to enjoy it as well.....

MM, I can see it for some people that post some ridiculous threads. I just ignore them. I only have one or 2 people actually blocked here. But you can hide posters on the forum side by looking at the "Hide" function right under their picture or avatar. And I think you're highly intelligent and always read your posts. And really enjoy the "Simply Beautiful" video... fabulous music and what a voice!
