 Firstly, who says I'm NOT working My ass off for My degree? Secondly, if I already have a baseline for results (as I used the SLOAN the base line is established across "normal" respondants). I felt it would be interesting and, for a change supportive to our community, to exclusively ask D/s participants. While that aspect isn't entirely part of My design for this use of the survey, it DOES mean that I now have an opportunity to see what, if any, variations in personality distribution the results have thrown up. If I do discover a significant variance (via either Spearman's rho or Pearson's Product moment) then I may explore this further. I suspect that D/s respondants would show a more balanced personality profile with evidance of more self actualisation than the established "norm". But that design will be informed from the results gained from this piece of research! Does that answer your question pink?

If you have to ask for this, then you probably ought to not say it... not only do you know you shouldn't, but you just told us that you shouldn't say this.

A self selecting piece of research maybe (very common) you know, the kind that compares "regular" folks with those that SELF IDENTIFY AS X Y OR Z

Not sure what an azz is (being and English teacher I usually know new words that make their way into the lexicon, but this one?)... and what makes you think she isn't?  Heck I wrote a very intense paper on the psychology of faery tales.  It took a slew of research including watching movies and reading Mother Goose.  Does that sound like research?  Let me tell you... It was tough. 
 
You have no idea what her research was.  Maybe her research was even something like... Out of a website with x number of people, what type of self-identifying people would respond to a survey.... Anybody who has study research methodology knows there is often more to a study than meets the eye.
