You know all kidding aside... I dont think Obama would have access to much info as the President. Frankly in terms of "politics as usual" Barrack Obama would be lucky as shit to be able to get access to the White House Dinner Menu. I doubt like hell he would be able to get a security clearance so most of his briefings would be blacked out sheets of papers and documents that he couldnt read and instructions that "Mr President, you are not cleared to that level so I cannot tell you."

Im not kidding... The man has never served in the military or on a committee that required a clearance. He has never held a job that requires a clearance. He is the son of a foreign national, raised by another foreign national in a country that is not exactly allied with us and that is a hotbed for Islamic terrorism. He is a known associate of radical extremists. I wont even get into his wife - who is a piece of work and who would also have to clear.

If you look at Obama, for what he is as a man rather than for the persona or the hype, the man is one giant collection of "wrong answers" on a Standard Form 86 and I fail to see how in the hell he could EVER pass a SSBI...  (Single Scope Background Investigation - needed for a Top Secret, "Q", "SCI" or "Yankee White" clearance.) Actually, that has the potential to be a real humdinger of a legal issue down the road because we could actually wind up with a President who isnt legally allowed to be a janitor at the Pantex plant or the Johnson Space Center etc and who cant have access to most of the stuff the CIA, NSA, and DOD generates....

Once again, I am being completely serious. The form / investigation / interview process is chock full of questions about foreign relatives, foreign travel, time spent overseas, known associates, group affiliations etc.... In the event he is actually elected, he could very well wind up being "President Mushroom" - kept in the dark and fed lots of horseshit because he will probably never get cleared for Top Secret, Sensitive Comparmentalized Information or Q (nuclear). I really doubt his wife could get Yankee White - (access to the President.)

Before the Bush bashing starts - note that Bush was already cleared secret or better as a military officer and pilot and as the son of a CIA director and Yankee White for when his dad was President. Ditto for McCain, Top Secret /SCI /Q as CO of a Navy Squadron and for various committies he has served on. Even Carter was Top Secret / SCI / Q because he was an Annapolis trained nuclear engineer and reactor engineering officer.  It will be very interesting to see what happens to Obama if he cant get cleared and  has to run an administration with a staff who says "you cannot know that sir" and a pile of heavily redacted documents with more black ink than words.

POTUS and VPOTUS cannot be denied full access to any classified documents the National Security Act makes that clear.

Actually, the act cited has nothing to do with the classification of information... It actually establishes the national security council. low intenstity conflict board, etc...

The actual classification of documents, and requirements for a security clearance etc is set forth in Executive Order 13292 which was issued by President Bush and like many things in the Bush administration - the contents of it are - well LOL Classified. There is a version of it on the Whitehouse web site but there is purportedly a codicil to it that is restricted distribution.... Probably something that exists "just in case" Obama is elected.

However, none of this alters the fact that when you peel away the rhetoric Barrack Obama is a walking collection of wrong answers to the security clearance application questions and as such would be unable to obtain the security clearance needed to render him legally eligible to empty waste baskets in most buildings at the Johnson Space Center. This is who the democrats are running for President and its pretty fucking scary when you think about it. Based upon the answers he would have to provide on a clearance app, Barrack Obama would not be eligible to become a 2nd Lt in the National Guard yet he is running for CINC.

By your measure, Mr. Clinton would probably not have passed a security clearance background investigation at the time that he was in office either.  ( i think that it had to do with the "i smoked but never inhaled" comment).

You're right, but the trick now is to let people know that without pushing them in the wrong direction.

How true and how sad.....once becoming President-Elect our new Commander-in-Chief is the at the top of the security-apparatus food chain....anything less and we are a banana republic.Whether that mans black or white the constitution makes no provision for...probably because the founders never could have envisioned a black president, apparently some still can't

What exactly does his race have to do with having the wrong answers to put on a Standard Form 86??? Colin Powell is black and had all the right answers, so does Condi Rice, and tens of thousands of other security cleared minority members.... Its not about race it is about the fact that based upon the mans past, he wouldnt be legally eligible to get a job sweeping floors at the Pantex Plant of driving rivets at Northrup Grumman...

The man meets all the qualifications laid out in the Constitution, mentioning whether or not he would qualify for a janitor's position at the Johnson Space Center does seem to have a condescending and racist tone to it ....if not intended I apologize ,but the fact remains if elected he's the Commander in chief and to suggest he wouldn't be cleared for information is hackneyed and ridiculous .As I said earlier this isn't a banana republic this is the U.S.A.

What if they did?
What if the people around you are more concerned with putting the best person in office?
What if people are seriously concerned in getting answers to questions on issues of importance here and now.  Not simply picking on a candidate based on where someone in his family might have been born.
Security is a real issue.

The economy is a real issue
      my point of focus
            Gas prices.
How one would fund National Health care.

There are others.

Each time i have tried to pin any of this down the "R" word comes out.  maybe i have been misreading it, and i should consider that it stands for "R"epublican.

#1 ) I do some contract work out of a NASA building and the janitor who empties my waste basket is a white man. If anything is racist it is automatically assuming that a janitor will be a black man.

#2) I am not talking about race, I am talking about the answers he would need to provide on a Form 86 and what would come up on a SSBI. Relatives who are not US Nationals, foreign travel, foreign associates, living abroad in a country of interest, relatives with ties to foreign govts, education in a foreign country, known radical associates, etc,,,

#3 I am 40 not 51 and I have smoked pot. I inhaled and disclosed it on my clearamce application and I tested clean and my account was of when I stopped etc was verified by my polygraph. I got cleared - lying, which obama is famous for, will burn you more than an admission such as GWB's DUI charge and cocaine use.

Actually, i have held one of the clearances DomAviatior referred to, and had i failed the security investigation on it (which included at the time, smoking pot or any illicit drug use) i would have been relegated to cook or mortar base plate carrier.  Neither of these were an enticing job.  i decided to keep the clearance, and forego drugs.
i also would not have been welcome in any facility that served to fulfill government contracts which contain any level of security information.  (those listed by DomAviator).
As for public office?  No thanks.

Oh, I'm guessing that since the POTUS holds chairmanship over the NSC he'd probably have all the information he required.

1) the reference to pot wasn't directed at you Atursvcmaam...2)I don't believe the President Elect need fill out a form 86 or any other paper work to assume the duties of the office 3)didn't mean to insult white janitors, but when you suggest the first candidate from a major party who happens to be black wouldn't qualify to be a janitor you  run the risk of having your motives questioned......Now if you want to question his qualifications for the office of President of the U.S. based on his merits and can lose the reference to janitor's you might be taken seriously...again if the charge of racism doesn't fit don't wear it...

Sorry, this is simply not true. I know too many commissioned and non-commissioned military members with family or even themselves born in foreign countries, with DoD top level clearances. FI a concern, but not the total and automatic bar that DA claims.

I did not say it is a total and automatic bar. In fact my mother is a dual citizen - USA and South Africa. The fact that my father married a South African national didnt disqualify either of us...

HOWEVER, it is a matter of what that foreign influence is.... Abongo Obama???  Raila Odinga??? No fucking way! I mean hello Odinga is the next Mohhamed Farrah Adid!
