The computer training I got wa more of the woman telling me do this, do that, and not telling me how to do it myself. There's no computer user maual anywhere, and even the people that work there have no idea what half of the stuff on the sceren is...there are color codes that correspond to different statuses, I'm sure, but again, no one knows, or even seems to care about knowing.
The office manager refuses to take any phone calls when the drivers call in to talk to him. I can't help them, one I have no idea what they want, and two, it's not in my job description. This one ex-driver called 15 times yeasterday, and as many the day before, and the office guy refuses to talk to him. Drivers that have been suspended or have isses with their cabs call in, and the guy responsible for that won't take his damn calls either!
And the drivers.....!!!!!......half the time, their accents are so thick I can't understand what they are telling me, and no one's actually explained what the terminology is that they are using, so even when I understand them, I can't help them because I STILL don't know what they want. So I do a lot of "hold, please", and pass them off to someone else. I'm making mistakes simply because no one told me what to do in the first place.
The good thing...I got a job offer today in a call center about an hour from home. It makes a little more, I'll at least be able to pay my bills and maybe have some left over....a luxury I haven't had for a while!...and once I'm done in training and stuff, I can apply to work from home. Really!!?? Go to work in my jammies?? Or nekkid?? Now that's cool!
My last police department option is still there....they actually used those fill in the blanks answer sheets and a test booklet....and had to send them off to be graded....I should be hearing something soon about that. If this one fails, well, then, I don't know what I'll do. Maybe it's time to find something else to do? I don't know....right now, I'm to burnt out from fighting to keep my head above water to consider anything else. One day at a time, and that's it. I'm tired. And I have a move coming on THursday.....ugh! Again, any one in the J'ville area with nothing to do can feel free to drop by and help!

Do you have internet access at work? Can you open a new screen or take a laptop/netbook with you and use MapQuest to help you locate places?
