I work from home. Things dangle, and I don't care!

I like pajama parties, but not for work! Eep.

I miss Holly.

Hey fluffy...the jobs going okay. I'm surprised how much of things that I retained from doing the earlier contract for this company. I'm not too thrilled with the facilitator.....the one that trained me was much better. She had a rhythm to her lesson plan, the guy doing our class is following the book, which is all over the place, and completely bypassed the teaching of the basics, as in navigating the computer system, some of the terminology we can expect to hear and use, and lots of other beginning steps. We're there for 5 weeks in class, and I'll tell you.....we've wasted a lot of time this week. He's got us broken up into groups for scenarios and stuff, and we end up wasting an hour for one team doing one scenario...often so similiar in context that it's silly to do both of them. There are 4 groups, so what should've taken us 20 minutes turns into 4 hours. And we had Memorial day off, so we're that much further behind. The facilitator is good, but sometimes he ends up confusing us because he is trying to do things, and instead of following the basics and the next logical step, he's got us in accounts seeing things that the others haven't seen, and then they stat getting lost and confused, and he doesn't take the time to explain alot of things....just sends us to the online library so we can "look it up". If we don't know what we're looking for, how the hell do we start? And the resource is like searching on Google....type in a word or phrase, and it hits on EVERYTHING. UGH! There are 4 others in class that are rehires like me, so at least we can srt of help out with the groups.

It's all good tho.....not a bad place to be. Hopefully, the next PJ day will be done on my day off....I can't see that again!!!! [:'(]

Just got back from the doctor in Dallas, He is 90% certain that the mass in my kidney is cancer, but he had another ct scan done to be sure. I will know for sure tomorrow.

I sooooo hate it that i cant sleep now really thanks to my daysleep today which I had thanks to my youths at work...which were on the run last night[>:]

Normally I would say "ok...lets just clean now and relax after work today..."but for that again i'm too tired and my shoulder blade muscle is sore...so it hurts when moving my right arm[&o]

well, time for another round of trying until my alarm goes off in 3 hours (start working in 9 hours but want to get some cleaning done before work today....jeeeesh)

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/11/2012 6:07:24 AM)

I discovered that there were no sweets in the house on Saturday. This made me very sad, of course. So, yesterday afternoon I remedied that situation. I made a fresh peach and almond pie, a butter-cake with fudge frosting, two loaves of fruit bread, and a batch of oatmeal cookies.

Butterhead watched and helped me make the cake. She watched me put it in the oven. She watched me take it out of the oven. She "helped" me frost it. (Which consists of trying to stick her fingers in the frosting as much as possible.) She even put the sprinkles on it. This morning she comes up to me and grabs my hand. "Mommy! Mommy! Come see!" Okay, I go with her. She takes me over to the table and announces, "Look Mommy! It's a cake!"

Well no shit, it is a cake. I guess that she thought that the cake fairy had stopped by in the night. [8|]

I am considering oatmeal-chocolate-chip cookies today and some banana bread. I will have to go and get more baking powder first though.

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/11/2012 2:56:41 PM)

I'd love a visit from the cake fairy........when ya comin'?

Since it's starting to thunder, I'm going to go make some chocolate chip cookies......the way my luck's been lately, if I leave the computer on, I'll get hit by lightning and fry the thing. Spent almost $300 today just getting a new starter in my car.....thank god for roadside assistance...best $3 a month I've spent....had to get towed twice in as many days.

Later dudes and dudettes! COOKIE TIME!

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/11/2012 7:10:17 PM)

I just have to say that oatmeal-chocolate-chip cookies are GREAT!

s2s, I have never figured out how to ship a cake. If I knew how, I would certainly send you one. Butterhead LOVES making them.

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/12/2012 4:31:03 PM)

Lots of bubble wrap and the frosting on the side? Cake crumbs are good too! Or cupcakes.....

I have never really liked oatmeal chocoate chip cookies......I prefer them as seperate cookies.....oatmeal with raisins, and chocolate chip.....both with walnuts tho.....I love walnuts! The cookies turned out good....I'm still trying to figure out this new stove, which is electric...I'd give my left nut for a good gas stove! This one seems to run hot, but I can't pinpoint exactly how hot.....I've sacrificed about 4 batches of cookies since I got here. {sigh}

Raisins are yucky.

Walnuts are yucky.

I do not put those things into my cookies.

The secret to great cookies is to reduce the oven temp by 25 degrees. Yep, yep.

For your oven running hot, you might want to buy a temp gauge for the inside of the oven and check it. I think that they only run a few bucks and that has got to be cheaper than ruining cookies or whatever else you are cooking.

As news. . . while Roscoe was crawling around yesterday, I noticed that he is as BIG as my CAT! YAY!

RemoteUser -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/13/2012 7:16:29 AM)

*perks up*

Cookies?

Free food??

What?!?!??!?!

(How to appeal to any writer.)

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/13/2012 3:24:44 PM)

Aylee, you have no idea what's good! Must have raisins and walnuts!!! nummy!

Good news about Roscoe! Glad to hear he's catching up! Is Butterhead dressing him yet? And how's she doing in school? Keeping them on their toes, I'm sure!

My chocolate chip cookies came out okay....I did actually cut the temp on them, so they are softer in the middle, but I like my cookies soft anyway. Using applesauce in place of half the shortening will make your cookies nice and soft. Just remember to get PLAIN applesauce and not the cinnamon. It gave my cc cookies a different taste...not necessarily a bad one, just a tad different.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/13/2012 3:48:39 PM)

YEAH on Roscoe crawling about. Next he will be pulling himself up and figuring out how to walk, and then run.

That is when you invest in a good pair of cross trainers for yourself.

jlf1961 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/13/2012 5:23:07 PM)

The procedure to remove the tumor is scheduled for aug 6
