Perhaps because it's something along the lines of what a pre-teen would do for attention?  If someone honestly thinks that using garish colors and inflated fonts "better communicates" their messages, what they're saying probably isn't worth all that much to begin with.

Status: offline 		Thankfully there isn't an option for making the dots in an 'i' a little heart shape. I totally held back on my post because I hadn't read any of the other responses and I didn't want to be harsh but yes.. preteen is the best word for it IMO.

Status: offline 		in chat.. i always use a rainbow colored font... but there.. everyone has their color scheme... i feel it communicates one's personality in a way... not only that, but i really have trouble reading the smaller fonts, especially the ones without color

    Now now, a decent purple is far too easy read. I'm thinking pale lavender.

    How peculiar, there is no icon for eyeballs spinning in circles.Now this shade just screamsssssssss personality! The bold adds a certain flair don'tchya think? Uhoh now I worry that I'm being overly yellow-pee-green. I won't be obnoxious anymore ( on this thread ) I promise.
