       You should hear the sorts of jokes the doctors, nurses, and paramedics you place so highly above vets tell when the doors are closed.  Are they to be pitied as well, or have they made a choice of what they will be exposed to in service of a greater good?

The things you did, how did it change your attitude towards conflict, if at all... trying to understand the other side, so to speak. I don't want to take your time unduly though and I realise it's a bit much to ask like that so please don't hesitate to say no if this would be too much of a bore/burden for you.

I wasn't thinking of you but of those that are badly maimed and injured. I heard a lot about PTSD and its effect on some of the soldiers...I don't do pity, however.
I try to be a compassionate person: is that a bad thing?

Heritic, exactly. When I flew the A-6 I would roar off into the night with 18,000 pounds of misscellanious and assorted things that go boom... I would come back empty... You can either let it bother you or make it into a big joke with back slapping and laughter in the ready room... Those who are bothered by it shouldnt do it... But its those of us who do that make it possible for the pacifists to live... Im not trying to pick on a certain feline who clearly detests me... BUT to be fair, as a sensitive peace loving type she wouldnt exactly fare well under the type of tyranical regiemes we keep at bay by killing those who would love to put her in a burkah and beat the fuck out of her with a rattan cane if her ankle or wrist shows, or to execute her if she spoke back to a man, etc... These arent imaginary people, these are REAL things that happen at real places in the world and they would love to make the same thing happen here...
