I save mine and it always surprises me how much it adds up. One time I had almost $35 in change - no wonder the damn thing weighed a ton. I used it to buy a new purse!

my purse and i were detained going through the x-ray thingamadoo at the airport. All they saw was a massive lump on the x-ray. It was the change in my wallet!!!

[8\|] At least yours was only change.... The dagger/letter opener that the TSA confiscated from me years ago is STILL on display at the Boise airport. Monster #3 had put it in my purse without me knowing when I went to take him and his siblings to the airport to go visit family in California. So now they laugh at me everytime we see it.

speaking of change and airports. when i lived in vegas, i worked in a really bad part of town for a while by myself, sometimes at night in a shop. my brother gave me a police issue can of mace just in case something happened. well my kids were much younger and every other month i'd take them to the airport to fly up to SLC to see their dad, i did this for a year, passed through security with the mace in my purse, not a problem. one time i had a roll of dimes in my purse and it set the alarm off....i thought i was going to get arrested because when they searched through my purse they found the mace which i ahd completely forgotten about. 3 hours later they let me go and a week after that i got a nasty letter from homeland security saying i could be fined, etc etc etc...they scared the shit out of me with that letter. anyway, kind of interesting how the mace made it through security numerous times but a roll of dimes didn't. As someone who has flown recently, ie., last week, it's funnier than snot (snot, not snort, so the Hotty one doesn't have to clean it up!) what makes it through and what doesn't. I got searched several times but at this point, I'm used to it. I actually plan and prepare on being searched anymore. [8D] Just makes it easier.
