Status: offline 		I think people consider it lazy to try and get away with the minimum amount of letters and going down that route will ultimately lead to total incoherence. It's a beautiful language use it to it's full potential and there is no reason at all that anybody can't.

I saw that study there is a famous optical illusion that asks you to count how many letters of a certain type is contained within a piece of text and people always miss out certain letters because the brain doesn't require them for comprehension of the overall piece of text.

There is an important difference between your and you're, a shame this is lost in modern txt speak.


Of course there is a huge difference between the two, one being possessive and the other a contraction of a subject and the verb "to be."  In text speak though, I think people use the same shortened form ("ur") according to context.
