From my limited (very limited) time at the NYC munch/club scene I can see why single women don't exactly like to go. It's usually over run by couples and creepy single men and the age range is usually over 40-ish. I say don't give up, keep going and don't limit yourself to just collarme.com. There are other dating sites out there and plenty of dominant women hiding in the "vanilla" world who don't feel the need to be on a BDSM site or go to BDSM clubs. I would say, the one thing about those munches/events/clubs is that different people show up all the time. One week it's nothing special, the next you talk to great people and then the next you're bored senseless. The negative might out weigh the positive but if you really want to look I think it's best to just deal with it.

Usako, I moved to NYC specifically because the scene in the midwest was nil. You're right about most munches being a bit older and usually couples (and yes, creepy single men over 40-ish). I've been looking for quite some time. Years and years. I can feel the frustration making me jaded.

I have NOT found that to be the case when you say never go , few show up ,etc .I have flown into events alone and left with many marks and newly added color .I am somewhat picky as well mainly to keep myself safe yet i have had Dommes come right up to me and ask if i was available .Was it a long term deal ?No yet i have met many from this site and other s and events and many have become close friends .and Miss M is correct open the doors and be positive . Live what is placed before you VS living for an unattainable negative and you shall be surprised what comes your way .

Unfortunately a lot of people have been looking for years and years; there is no easy and magical answer to finding the person. I would assume that the bonus of NYC verus the small town places is that people do filter through munches and events and clubs. Each time there is always one or two new faces. I guess the key is to be at said place whenever said person is there.

Finding someone you connect with who you are attracted enough to to date is never easy. VAnilla or BDSM related, person to person is a pain. It took me years (and cities) to find someone. I was in NY, no luck. In Cincinnati, and Vegas no luck there either. I finally met my boy on here, when he lived in nashville and I moved out here to be closer to him and away from Vegas. Met my second one locally, also through here. The idea might be you contact THEM rather than waiting for them to come to you. I do get inundated with mail, but if someone is well written, has a pictuer attached and makes it obvious they read my profile I will still reply and I know a majority of the other women on here are that way as well. Azro: Good for you! I'm glad you've had some positive experiences. As I said, I've had no shortage of offers, but even casual play wish someone I'm not attracted to is a limit for me. Usako: True, though everyone has their breaking point.

Well, everybody's experience is different. For me, Collarme has been a godsend. I met my future Owner on my very first day, entirely by chance. Of course, she wasn't my Owner at that point and we didn't jump into a relationship based on a nice exchange or two on Yahoo. Quite frankly, neither one of us was interested at having a relationship at that time anyhow. Of course, things did quickly fall into place. I don't think I would have had much luck through any other avenue. While munches are nice, they're really not much for actually -meeting- people, in my limited experience. I also don't/didn't have a desire to go to play parties or clubs. Totally not my style at all. So, I guess I understand how some people could dislike the idea of looking into those sorts of things. However, if you're not having luck anywhere else...sometime expanding one's horizons is necessary. You shouldn't limit your options. DV's Fox

I think it's silly to discuss sex before meeting the person and actually finding out of there's a connection. That goes for getting to know someone you meet in person as well. Otherwise both parties will get the wrong impression. Shawn: Good for you. I'm glad it's worked for you.

Perhaps reflection on what it is your wanting and or looking for is in order ?maybe broaden your view and scope ?I agree if there is no attraction there is also no need to move forward , there should be that spark and energy .I too have been searching for years but recently i just stopped looking and being so aggressive in the search and allowed what shall come to me happen .It has been a wonderful change maybe it can also work in your favor . Becoming a regular, even-keeled poster on these boards is a very good way to meet Dominant women as well.. I know that when I get an email from someone who I recognize as a frequent poster, I answer it the same day and am very friendly to them..

I created my current profile 6 months ago. I didn't make it expecting to meet someone, nor am I using it as a way to attract someone, I simply use this profile for my hundreds of journal entries. My older profile has remained dormant on this site. Few women read profiles anyway. There's simply little time what with all the emails they're getting.
