According to the Official Submissive Handbook, thigh high boots are allowed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays after Labor Day.

But seriously to the OP...clothing doesn't make someone appear dominant.  I can have the highest thigh high boots on, but if I'm naked while wearing them with my cheek against the floor and my ass in the air and I'm begging then I don't think there's any question of my role at that moment.

I've always found thigh length boots a bit overkill and they make people walk like robots IMOSHO.

I can see your point, considering I loathe them with a passion.  I don't like anything "bossy" about my girl's appearance.  Folded arms or hands on hips etc will always sting and you can add bimbo boots (such as thigh-highs) to that look.
 
The only time any sort of boots are ok on my girl is if we're out hiking/camping - ie, *practical*.  For occasions where one might think thigh-highs are suitable, she'll be wearing 3" heels.

I love my boots, I know several doms that love me in my boots. -laughs- While unowned I wear what I like, when / if I ever take another collar I will wear what my owner likes. Hopefully he likes me in boots because that is what I am most comfortable in. I don't think clothing dictates weather I "look" submissive or dominant, I think my behavior does that.

So like most things it comes down to personal preference.  Coming from a part of the country where most women wear sweat pants and flip flops (college town AND close to the beach) putting them into thigh high boots is definitely not an immediate sign of being Dominant by any means.

Again though to each their own.

It's a matter of perception.  InkedMaster wants me in thigh-high ballet boots because for us, it's a form of bondage.  That they are next to impossible to walk in is the whole point.  Even crawling can be uncomfortable at best.  The restriction in movement that makes it attractive for Him and certainly doesn't make me look Dominant.

a few years ago a former play-partner of mine bought me two pair of spiked heel, thigh high, lace-up leather boots; one was black, the other was white...

the only thing i could think of when i saw them was 'dominatrix'...
