Davan, I agree that one's sexuality is not an ideology. In fact, in a previous post, I said that, imo, sexual orientation is hard wired from birth. What I object to is people defining others according to their own ideas of what constitutes sexual orientation, or anything else, for that matter. Btw, my panties are not in a bunch. I don't wear them, except , occasionally, on my head. I respect peoples right to their own opinions. What I find intolerable is...well, intolerance.

Then, what is the point of interjecting the thought on ideology? I would like to understand your perspective. Your objection is noted. I object to people being inaccurate with descriptors. I actually think that such antics feed into peoples' intolerance. I've been dealing with peoples' intolerance about sexuality since elementary school where people were constantly threatening to beat up the guy who I've now known for nearly 30 years (We met in kindergarten) because of him being gay; I can't even count the number of butts I threatened to kick on his behalf growing up, lol. One of the reasons I have, as a practice, been so matter-of-fact about just about every aspect of who I am is to challenge peoples' intolerance. I think this BS fluidity of definitions makes intolerance worse, so I suppose you can call me intolerant about improper use of descriptors and I can live with that. I think gay, straight, and bi- folks all potentially rock and they're all potentially asshats, each person is an individual. Davan

It seems that we agree that intolerance is the most intolerable thing and that how we choose to define ourselves is much more important than how others define us. Alas, Cjan, I think what we have are diametrically opposed views on definitions and self-description. What we appear to agree on are the problems of intolerance. Our ideas on how to combat it are incompatible; I believe the ways we utilize descriptors are so divergent as to be irreconcilable. I am not sure what your assertions on ideology reference as you declined to explain. For the record, I think if one fucks a tree, it doesn't matter who sees it or not, they're still a tree fucker (And the tree is a human fuckee).
