quote:

Not so long ago I had a rather intense and emotionally charged discussion with my doctor, in the presence of my wife, in which I made it very explicitly crystal clear I was not under any circumstances period end of discussion to be artifically or mechanically (or otherwise non naturally) kept alive, and asked him to sign a para to this effect on my LW.

Query:

I'm an attorney and have frequently been called upon to draft Living Wills and Health Care Proxies (a Living Will generally expresses one's wishes, a Health Care Proxy puts the decision making power in a particular person's hands if the drafter is not able to express or mentally able to come to a decision). Such directives are often said to be made to alleviate concerns for the party's loved one (i.e.- so they will not feel guilty in letting me go). But they are really just as often expressions of the drafter's desire to express how, when and under what circumstances we want to shuffle off the mortal coil. And truth be told, even with that expression of intention, it is often very difficult for the living partner or family member to let go. They just may not yet be ready, for a variety of reasons.

If one is a submissive/slave, would the ultimate submission/transfer of power and trust be the act of leaving it up to your Domme to decide when He or She is willing and ready to allow you to leave this earth? Or might the ultimate "service" be to say, "You may keep me here and only let me go when You are ready to?"
