ORIGINAL: Aynne 15 minutes? Ummm "Do the Right Thing", "Jungle Fever", "Malcolm X" and many more really relevant social films, Oscar winner, activist, creative genius......we should all spend our 15 minutes so well with so much impact on society. Spike is a good director, but, as a director, he's nowhere close to Clint's level of craftsmanship. Clint's directorial debut, Play Misty For Me, remains a compelling film even after almost 40 years. Clint excels at creating compelling yet flawed characters--the kind that make for interesting story telling (Josey Wales, Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Highway, William Munny, Jimmy Markum, Frank Dunn, Maggie Fitzgerald). 40 years from now, will the same be said of Spike Lee's films? Doubtful. So, yeah...Spike Lee should "shut his face".
