Now that is intriguing, apparently I was not reading those books close enough.

-Jean-Luc Picard, always in control but he can laugh at himself once in a while
-Frodo

a few others that other folks mentioned.

Logan

Lady Heather from CSI. The original episode featuring her was the best. I hate the way they spun her off as they did. Maybe someone will rethink this and start giving us a more true persona as to the lifestyle.

Riddick

Jnj -> RE: Who's your favorite fictional Dom/me-esque character? (6/12/2008 4:58:55 PM)

1. James Bond
2. Sean Culhane in "Stormfire" by  Christine Monson (he kidnaps her, rapes her virginity, gives her to his best friends in a huge rape scene, almost kills her twice, locks her in a dark room for three months, and then gives her favorite pet to his misterss. And yet he comes off as completely honorable and secretly loves her the whole time.)
3. Lazarus Long

Captain Malcolm Reynolds  [:)]

He reminds me a lot of my Master.  In charge, wonderfully imperfect and funny as hell.  [;)]

Riddick!

IronBear -> RE: Who's your favorite fictional Dom/me-esque character? (6/12/2008 6:07:56 PM)

I agree with OmegaG here that too much time is spent with male characters playing second fiddle and boosting the dominant effect of diminuative female characters. However fictional characters : James Bond, Ridick and all the characters played by Steven Segal.. Personally, I find better Dominant Characters in real life of both sexes. History is filled with them and they usually sufferd an early demise too.

Mike Harmon, the Ghost from John Ringo's Ghost series

Not only has he killed more people than bad driving (including Ben Laden) but in the later books he is "Kildar" (Master) of a valley in European Georgia where he lives in a castle with a harem and exercises the droit de signure with all the lovely brides.

Duncan McCloud (sp?) from the t.v. show 'Highlander'. My ultimate male ideal.

Xena, Warrior Princess. I like 'em tall, dark and carrying swords.

I don't have fictional role models. The concept is a bit of an oxymoron to me.

This is why I adore Tigresse.

A friend of mine says she'd love a perfect blend of Mal/Jayne.

Riddick is a good choice also, I actually really do like the character- that sort of "fuck you all while having fun trashing the place" sort of swaggering attitude.

And I just bought the entire Xena series on dvd- not my ideal dominant figure fully, but I get it.

Wolverine.

Jean Luc Picard

MadRabbit -> RE: Who's your favorite fictional Dom/me-esque character? (6/13/2008 4:25:42 AM)

Ben Wade from 3:10 to Yuma

Good one MadRabbit.

However what was the name of the Blonde Gun Man. And if you know his Real name as well as the Character name I would appreciate it. He was in the Movie Alpha Dog, and I liked his character but in 3:10 to Yuma he was VERY believable as a Sadistic Bastard even if he wasn't believable as a Gun Man.

Steel

It's Geoffrey Rush, And you are right he was great in Quills

I LOVE the boondock Saints however who are you refering to

Connor McManus - Played by Sean Patrick Flanery (AKA Powder)

Or

Murphy McManus - Played by Norman Reedus (AKA Scud from Blade II)

Or do you mean

Paul Smecker the Homosexual FBI detective played by Willem Defoe (AN INCREDABLE PERFORMANCE)

Or maybe you mean

Il Duce played by Billy Connolly

Too Many GREAT Male Characters in that movie to just mention the movie you need to narrowe it down for me.

LadyLynx -> RE: Who's your favorite fictional Dom/me-esque character? (6/13/2008 9:16:46 AM)

role model?? hmm. LadyLisa from Exit to Eden. (Yes I liked the movie, and adored Dana Delaney in it, but......well if they called it something else and was totally different from the book would of liked it alot more. hope that makes sense.)

I liked LadyHeather too and hate the way they trashed her charecter.

Who was Stu Redman played by? been so long since I've seen it, that I barely remember it.

I got The Fountainhead, I really should read it.
