Hmmm, it was kinda cool, actually.

I whacked a dentist once that drilled on an exposed nerve. I told him I was in pain and needed more novacane. He said I had enough. So when he drilled and i shot up 2 feet i smacked his arm to get the drill away from me. He gave me more novacane after that.

I have had root canals without painkillers during or after.

Try having 4 children au naturelle without painkillers too.
