Over my last year and a half in the D's world, i have heard very little about the Gorean side, does anyone know about it, who can comment and make suggestions of good websites to research it on? Or does anyone have experience, i'm especially interested in hearing the slaves point of view here, on what it's like, how you came to know about it...exc....all details and facts are greatly appreciated. I'm about to embark on the journey of Gor in almost two weeks, and finding nothing that really helps me understand it, i've come here to ask, what you know, and what works and doesn't work in your oppinion, how the lifestyle would make you feel and all of that good stuff. Just some basic thoughts, oppinions, and experiences are good. thanks A/all

i totally love you MistressDread!!!!!!!! thank you so much to everyone else thank you as well, i'm just curious about the lifestyle at the moment, but my Master is into the slave possitions of the Gorean lifestyle. Not much else from what i can gather, but again thank you all.

I looked into it awhile ago. But my fondest Gorean memory was playing with a male sub who was very Gor. He was amazing! Too bad I didn't keep track of him. Good luck. :)

both the primary and secondary slave positions are in the Dominants of Gor. There are also the primary and secondary slave positions for BDSM. in there as well which are different in style and name. There are also Dominant positions and postures not to mention the rules regulations and proticals of both. plenty to read and study and learn and enjoy!Have fun.

i have been in the gorean lifestyle online for about a year now. you may send a message to me if you wish, i'd be happy to try and answer any questions you may have. but my best advice would be to read the books to gain a general understanding of the lifestyle. Gor is harsh, very harsh, and it seems to have a more strict discipline thand D's ever has........at least from what i've seen. hope this helps. i hope to hear from you. innocent angel

as it relates to Gor and Gorean Philosopy, do not get confused. I have come across many who claim to be r/l Gorean. now, I don't judge, but it would seem hard to me to be Gorean on Earth, at least to any point which is describe either online or "by the books" I have indulged myself in Gor (online) now forr almost two years, and currently me and mine are still involved, though we both realise the importance of r/l..and delving in a fantasy world. roleplay Gor is wonderful, if you are into roleplay, which many are. living it is another story. Fortunately, we live in a country where rights are everyones to have. forgoing those rights to an extent is, to me, acceptable, as long as the play is safe and the intent is to better oneself. roleplay Gor sites are everywhere, you may wish to check MSN chat rooms (though they are pay by year now) and a site called www.gcn.cx learn before you tread on roleplay Gor though, it is as harsh as the books describe. for further info, I can be reached at [email protected] I hope I have been of some help to you. Why can't someone be Gor on earth? I am very disinterested in power exchange, slavery, and dominance. These are foreign and i don't enjoy the practice of demeaning others into my point of view one bit. However, i also think that about 99% of the people on this site are too interested in titles and names and slave positions and such. I don't even know if i am a gor switch at all. What i do know is that the pleasure of my partner is of utmost importance to me, so what does that make me. What is Gor play? How can you play at that? What makes someone gorean instead of slave or dom? I can be a great slave and a great dom but neither is my true nature. Just because is never a good reason lol shit i already forgot what i was trying to say oh well. Mistress Dread can you please tell me what makes a gor?

It's not the things that one does with or to a slave that separates Gorean from not. It's the philosophy and reasoning behind one's actions, both in the context of keeping slaves, and elsewhere in life that is the difference. The Gorean way is a whole way of thinking about life. What we have in common with the BDSM community is that the notions of dominance and submission are important in our culture, and we do keep slaves. Philosophy? Didn't the Gorean lifestyle start from some fantasy books? I mean no offense but Gor seems like Dungeons and Dragons with bdsm added. If you want to follow this in your life, I don't have a problem with that. But it's role playing taken to an extreme degree. Nothing more. In my opinion of course.

Estring. . .I happened to agree with what you say. . .but I'm trying very hard to keep an open mind about the whole gor phenomenon. I also understood that it sprung from a book or series of books decades ago. To try and live out something that is purely fictional/fantasy. . .isn't that akin to being an extreme trekkie? Like. . .teaching your kids to speak klingon and designing your house to look like the USS Enterprise (which amazingly some people do.) And as someone brought up in BDSM in the Old WOrld tradition, protocol was considered highly important. Therefore, for every protocol we learned in the Old World tradition. . .we learned the same for Old Guard and gor. I could see why Old Guard chose some of their protocol. . .such as the position of inspection. They are on their knees, head level, eyes not downcast, arms positioned with fingers locked (entertwinded) behind the head. This is because the people who first used it were of a military back ground. I could see it as being functional for their needs. (Not to mention it was very accessible.) With gor, eyes down. knees spread, palms up. . .the palms up part is to show that they had no weapons (I guess so the newly taken slaves doesn't try to kill the new master and his household. . .). . .I just can't see how you can suspend reality to the point of "imagining" a slave uprising at any moment. So I agree with Estring. . .is seems like role play taken to the extreme. (I could totally be talking out of my ass. . .and if I am. . .I'm sure someone will let me know. wink) Cheers! ~Jules~
