MzMia, one thing I forgot to ask. What do you mean by "the government?" The goverment encompasses a wide range of people. It's cops, teachers, social workers, garbage collectors, dog catchers, game wardens, and so on. Do you mean just politicians, or authority figures in general? The reason I ask is, I don't think a lot of folks equate the people I mentioned with the government. Like I said, I don't trust any authority figure. You have to earn my trust. I am extremely skeptical, and you have to prove things to me. I was a pain in the ass for teachers and professors in high school and college. I'm a pain in the ass to the local government officials. I question everything, and I make a point to find out things on my own. You have to do that in a democracy. When you become complacent, you get the government you deserve. In my opinion, it's your duty to be skeptical and untrusting when it comes to authority figures.
