Have to qualify this first by admitting I'm afraid of needles, love the cosmetic appeal of nipple rings but am too scared to get it done.
That said, a bit of curiosity: does it hurt more or less to put a clamp on a piercing, so that it's compressing on the inserted part? Or, if you get one done, do you normally end up putting the clamp behind it, on the aureola? Mostly curious, I don't imagine I'll be experimenting with the idea anytime soon.

Hi,

i am told by friends who have it that it hurts more than a pieceing but less than a tatoo.

Yet, i don't have one.  But, i know several who do and they said they thought of it long, befoere obtaining one.

In my case he always puts the clamp behind the piercing as I have nipples that are on the smaller side and there is not enough to get a good clamp on in front of them. Sometimes he will put the clamp directly onto the jewelry and add weight. Clamping directly over the piercing hurts a lot more but not in a good way. At least that has been my experience.

Just realized that your post kinda sounds like you are considering getting your nipples pierced. Be aware that the healing time for nipples can be pretty long....sometimes a year or more....and you can not play with them in that way during the healing process.

Mistoferin, thks for the info but no, needles really freek me out and although I think certain types of piercings look cool, earlobes are about it for me. Might sound odd for a self-professed pain addict, but I just can't see doing it, not even temporarily.

my piercings have made clamps a big no-no... and i miss them! TBH, it's meant we have to modify so much of any breast-play that i'm thinking of taking them out altogether since, as much as i (and he) love the aesthetic it's taken the edge off one of our fave things.....

Can you take them out for a short time, like just for a scene or an hour or two? Does having the hole increase sensitivity too, or just when the jewelry is in? Sounds awfully inquisitive I know for someone who doesn't have any, but I'm really curious.

Historically my piercings (anywhere, not just nipples) don't stay open for very long once there's nothing in there to hold them open.. so whilst I couldn't say they'd close if i took them out for a while then tried to get the rings back through i wouldn't put a bet that they'd stay open...

Sensitivity wise, they were incredibly sensitive whilst they were healing but they're pretty much back to normal now... but i can't take the type of play, not the intensity or duration, that i could - and not because it's more sensitive - just cos it feels like a sicky kind of uncomfortable.

That said - I know everyone's different so my take on it will only ever really be acurate for me!!

When my nipples were pierced I couldn't stand having clamps put on them, which was a huge disappointment because I loved it before they got done. The pain was just too sharp and intense for me to handle and I was begging to have them off within seconds of them being put on.

I eventually decided to take them out. As much as I liked the way they looked, I like having them available for play etc much better.

my nipples took almost 2 years to heal completely, and i never used clamps in that time.
Now that they're fully healed, my Master occasionally uses clover clamps on them, but these are generally placed behind the piercings. As mistoferin said, applying clamps onto the actual piercings themselves hurts a LOT more & not in a good way.

i have to agree with sharemeuk with regards to taking them out for any length of time.. Even just for a scene. Personally, i wouldn't want to risk it. It varies a lot from person to person, but even once they are "fully healed" they can still seal up surprisingly quickly, as the body will always try to find ways to repair what it would consider to be "damage".
i wouldn't know about the difference in sensitivity between having my bar's in or out, because the only times i take them out is to change them, which only takes a couple of seconds. But i would imagine that there is little difference.. If not perhaps that having them in makes them more sensitive if they're being pinched due to the fact of something solid being in the middle of them.

Also have to agree with faerytattoodgirl.. Yep clover clamps are ouchie!!! Esp if He decides its a good idea to put them on behind the bars and then pull on them until they pop off

somewhat off-topic, but do nipple piercings have any impact on wax play?  I'm considering getting mine pierced, but my dom loves pouring hot wax on them, and I'd have to think twice if tyhere was some sort of danger there.

I'm a guy instead of a girl, if that makes any difference.  Pretty small nipples too.

Not after they're healed. Yes, it's a bit more difficult to get all the wax off but if you coat the piercings with a bit of lotion first it's not a big deal.

I've had my nipples pierced about 10 years now... it seemed to take forever before they became really playable.
I started out with captive bead rings, but i kept losing beads when my breasts were being flogged..and remember it's always better to get smaller guage rings or bars..less chance of having them ripped.  As far as clamps are concerned mine have to be done behind the rings or it turns into a very bad hurt!  Weights are always good though.
I once had 2 foot long wooden spoons hung from my rings....i got the bright idea to see if i could make them spin like propellers on an air plane.....lol.....not a good idea!

shower in hot water after will get rid of most of the wax as it falls off.

Yep, thats been my experience too. Oddly enough I can take needles through my nips better than I can take clamps on them, maybe because the pain, sharp as it is, is fleeting whereas the pain from clamps is constant. Well, until they come off, that is.

I love them myself. If you go through the meat behind the nipple it does not hurt so much, fewer nerve endings. Just use a longer barbell. But really the nip piercing will hurt like hell for about 3 weeks if you are ready for the pain. After that you will more than dubble the sensation with the nipples erect most of the time. It only hurts on the way in and the way out because the nerve endings are at the skin surface. You will be turned on most of the time as it will rub against the clothing it will show you nipples errect so not recommended for the gym. Try wearing nipple clips under a minidress with a small chain attach to the clips to see how you like the sensation. I think they’re hot and always removable, unlike a tattoo.

Clamps behind piercings certainly but weights suspended from piercings is also nice.

Not always true to get smaller guage rings or bars... it is actually more chance of them getting ripped. is the Cheese cutter idea. if you stuck a pencil through a block of cheese it wouldn't go any where...but all you need is a teeny tiny piece of wire to slice the cheese to ribbons.  while there is definitly a range of how big a gauge your nipples can actually take from the initial piercing...generally bigger (within reason) is better. Smaller also has a bigger probability of getting Rejected( the body just pushes it out , the top layers of skin wear away the body rebuilds the skin behind the piercing)

Also while I agree that not everyone can take nipple clamps... you do gain the bonus of Nipple shields and other general "pulling" bondage activities... I've seen a gay male who similar to having your balls stretched..had his nipples stretched out almost an inch... he said it was a combination of vacuum for size and nipple shields that stretched the nipples away from the body.

Generally you should be able to "play" with your piercings 1.5x the normal healing time. for nipples a safe healing time (assuming you are not having Complications) is 9months. so give it a good 1.5 years before you get to rough with it...

Wax: Lotion, Soap, baby oil... all good things... but of course only if the piercing is fully healed first.

a really good Piercing info website is www.tribalectic.com besides some great references they have a very large community message board area (the piercing equivalent to CM)

There is also www.BMEzine.com but you must be cautious with where the info is coming from...BMEzine is a great site that has alot of great info..but also a TON of "experiences" and the experiences could be either highly informative or highly Dumb.but thats what happens when you get user submissions of their "experiences"

Cheers and happy body modding;)

Skully
