Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.  ~ Albert Einstein

I enjoy breathplay, but knew enough not to comment on that particular thread.

I refuse to give advice on a subject so...um dangerous in the hands of the inexperienced/unexperienced.

I just couldn't live with myself, it would seem like advocating teaching someone how to throw a ball and they run out to enjoy throwing it (and catching it) in traffic.

RedMagic1 -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 8:53:55 AM)

Thank you, came4U.  You finally posted something I agree with![;)]

came4U -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 8:57:26 AM)

lmao

prolly the first and the last?

no worries, if I'm not an odd duck, I'm just odd as fuck.

Ok, yes, I stole the title for this thread from a Ron White routine.

Am I the only one here, who is invested in this internet world, who almost has to slam their own head on the computer desk once in a while with the studid shit (sorry) things that people come up with?

LadyPact, 'net stress is a self-inflicted injury.  Turn off the pc; visit a different web site; use on of the various CollarMe features to avoid reading posts by members you deem 'stupid', etc.

Crickey, real life stress is perhaps unavoidable, but 'net stress is just bullsh*t.  Don't open your pc and seek out bullsh*t any more than you'd open your front door and go looking for it.

It's that simple.

It's not just the Internet world. You have isolated the problem with democracy generally.

Laptops. And if you dont have a laptop, well then you're screwed as far as posting about it online.

ownedgirlie -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 2:44:01 PM)

Almost every time I point out someone else's idiocy, I do something stupid myself.  It keeps me humble.  I'm not a fan of pointing out stupid.  We're all capable of the label at some time or another.

DesFIP -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 3:08:19 PM)

The only thing I feel should be said in a how not to kill someone while choking them thread is to point out all the different ways that death could occur. And a suggestion of a book that clearly tells you there is no fool proof way to do it.

Any actual suggestions are just asking for trouble in my book.

candystripper -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 3:32:22 PM)

I guess I'm more cynical than many members.

* I do not believe anything anyone posts here unless it's an objective fact and they provide a reliable source, which I usually go read for myself.

* Even Level could be a 99 year old grandmother for all I know -- we haven't met in real life.

* I feel no sense of responsibility to pixels on my pc.

* I do not feel 'invested' in the boards -- I'm not even sure what this means.

*  I recognise bullsh*t when I see it, even on the 'net.

* If I wanted to learn about breath play -- which I most assuredly do not -- I'd find someone I actually knew in real life and have them refer me to a practitioner they trusted.  That's how I find anything I want to include in my life -- mainly by getting referrals from people I actually know and trust.

If that fails I use the phone book.

Level is a 99 year old grandmother???..........well blow me over......I for one am shocked.  Amazing the stuff you learn on the "not so stupid" boards.

GreedyTop -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 4:41:02 PM)

there's a phone book listing for BDSM play instructors?

GreedyTop -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 4:52:54 PM)

damn...there goes my hopes of finding someone to teach me what to do with a 'no-limits'sub..*sigh*

The title says it all.

Thadius -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 4:56:25 PM)

You would be surprised how quickly those "no-limit subs" clearly articulate their limits when the plasma torch and angle grinder get pulled out.  Sometimes stupid can be altered a bit by the use of a clue x 4.

Have a great night.

GreedyTop -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 5:00:21 PM)

and butcher knives.. seems to run them off fairly quickly..

You have a great night as well!!

amaidiamond -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 5:13:54 PM)

Ooooh I don't know - I'm far from "no-limits" but a butcher knife would just turn me into a little melted puddle of sub on the floor...
