LadyPact -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/29/2008 5:19:04 PM)

I actually got busted by Mod 11 over this today, so if all of My new posts are "awaiting approval" soon, you know what happened.  Anyway, here goes.......

LadyPact, because I love you I will ignore the obvious fun at your expense over the typo.....

But yes, watching "stupid" is my greatest daily frustration, and entertainment.

You caught it.  I hadn't.  TY.

Of course the offline world really isn't all that much better.

True.

people who ask about choking on an open forum *wink*
people who ask "what else can I shove up my pooper"

Two things.  First, it's good to see that you have a sense of humor.  Two, My boy is a nurse.  I've heard the stories.

What is really scarey is that not only do they conduct edge play of all kinds after just reading the internet. . .if they do manage to not kill or mame someone, then they pose as "experienced" and begin to instruct others LOL So now. . .you have a moron being taught by a retard. . .it's like stupid squared.

This comment alone has made Me ever so glad that it's Me doing the fire and ice demo next month.

Nope.  Been doing it since the thread on "consensual" cannibalism started getting supporters.  (If you're cutting parts off your own body so someone else can eat them and think it's a perfectly acceptible life choice, you are broken.  Do not pass go.  Go directly to the psych ward.)

Not the first time I've seen stupid crap on Teh Intarwebz, won't be the last.  This is why the Darwin Awards exist.

Here's your sign.

That is *exactly* why that is one of the few threads I haven't been on in the past few days.  (I happen to like Bill, as well as Ron.)

You can fix ignorant..........stupid, is an entirely different animal in my book.

Completely true.  In a completely literal sense, they are entirely two different definitions.

Yeah I guess you missed my thread a few weeks ago on "The Dominant Submissive"?

I don't recommend CM for learning methods of any play at all, simply that you'll find people as idiotic and learning and teaching just as idiotically all over the offline scene as well.  You can't deny that truth.

Actually, I think I did, but I wasn't on the site much the past couple of weeks before clip left.  I will probably have to look it up.  No, won't deny that one.

Why would you want to fix stupid when it's so much fun to laugh at it?

Normally, I wouldn't, but I was actually worried on this one.

I enjoy breathplay, but knew enough not to comment on that particular thread.

I refuse to give advice on a subject so...um dangerous in the hands of the inexperienced/unexperienced.

I just couldn't live with myself, it would seem like advocating teaching someone how to throw a ball and they run out to enjoy throwing it (and catching it) in traffic.

Bingo!  There was a post a while back about setting somebody's balls on fire.  Yes, I know how to do it, and yes, I've done it, but I sure wasn't posting that info on the boards.  Especially for someone who I had never seen make a forum post before and I had no clue what they would do with what I had to say.

Almost every time I point out someone else's idiocy, I do something stupid myself.  It keeps me humble.  I'm not a fan of pointing out stupid.  We're all capable of the label at some time or another.

Which is what made the typo in the original post so funny.

<fast reply>

A friend of mine likes to quote Schiller: "Against stupidity, the gods themselves do battle in vain."

The whole thought of that "Consensual Cannibalism" thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth... I really hope people getting caught up in that dont find that they have bitten off more than they can chew. I mean we are all supposed to be open minded in the life style but some things are just in poor taste, and I realize that many of those discussing such things are just chewing the fat so to speak but there is a definite possibility of leaving people hungry for more form the relationship or someone being bitter ...

ooh- I got one.

"report power outage online"

duh- if the power is out- there is no computer!!...  [yup- there is such a claim by the power company!]

Uh, my notebook runs on a battery??? My desktop systems / router / network server etc all have a 2 hour Uniteruptible Power Supply, and my house has a propane powered automatic emergency generator that kicks on within 90 seconds of an outage.... Such things are actually pretty common - they sell them at Northern Hydraulics, great way to keep your AC running (or heat in Northern Climes) , the food in your freezer unspoiled, etc...

I just can't imagine that anyone would seriously want to conduct edgeplay without a bit of foundation.

I learned everything I know about needle play online. I do it better, safer and more conscientiously than everyone I have seen do it in person including the seasoned veteran that I was encouraged to mentor with when I first became interested. You can learn how to do something incorrectly in person just as easily as you can learn incorrect procedure online. I do have common sense which as we all know is not terribly common.

fluffyswitch -> RE: You can't fix stupid (6/30/2008 8:51:56 PM)

i think that the internet is just a valid location to find knowledge as any other. i think that some  people just learn better offline.
