Good Lord.  Seven pages and counting.

I'm tired; anyone care to tell me if a single post responded to the Op?

Named the payoff?

Named the cost?

The pay off / cost of my friendship to you is a bargain one off never to be repeated price of only.........................£300. [;)]

Yes, hard to believe, large as it is. Though Daddy says you wouldn't know a cock if you saw one....

*snickers*

(and here I was just thinking of your large mouth.....)

huh.  I doubt any real cock shots were sent.  They were probably shots of bedraggled, featherworn roosters!

You're missing the point people.  She wanted to know what the payoff of forming a clique was... most people disagreed that a clique exists, so her question did not get answered.

She doesn't believe that people are meeting offline, therefore, it can be surmised that people are making this up, and wants to know the payoff of making it up.

She believes that people that are friendly to each other "detract from the quality of the boards" and wants to know the payoff to that... people disagreed with her premise, therefore her question did not get answered.

Sounds like a big conspiracy theory... someone call Fox and Mulder.

See, i knew that [:o]
It was £300 for my fake 'clique' internet friendship.
Real friendship is priceless [;)]

LadyRainfire -> RE: What's te Payoff? What's the Cost? (7/1/2008 2:54:53 PM)

[sm=sad.gif]

I won't answer on the clique thing though I will say that I have met some wonderful people here and consider them my friends. If they're not real, then I won't have to worry about them showing up to my alleged, illusionary wedding now, will I? (Dammit, there goes all the fun.... Oh, and the FANTABULOUS sex and orgasms. SHIT.)

Sooooo, to help this poor, confuzzled, non-existant redhead, since I'm apparently a figment of someone's imagination, getting an answer you don't like to your question equals no answer and a thread hijack according to the OP?

Cali, Daddy says he gets to be Fox Mulder, I'm Scully.... We'll research the conspiracy theory for ya!

Wow! I'm new to this board, and I first thought you (as pinksugarsub) were new as well. Now that I see you have thousands of posts, I like you even more. Seriously. Every board needs a good antagonist. If they don't have one, they will create one. Honestly, you're perfect.

Benefit: Don't get me wrong - I almost never read your posts - but I do get tremendous amusement at your consistent ability to start a thread like this that goes on for pages and pages. Oddly, this has been a really great thread that would have been impossible if it had been started by almost anyone else. Adversarial relationships can bring a community together like nothing else!

Benefit: So I will add to the mess to make one comment: humor, real friendships, even "group hugs" on this particular board serve a serious purpose. They make some frighteningly difficult and intimate discussions more bearable, more human, more honest simply by lending perspective. I don't view them as hijacks as much as good natured reminders to keep me from becoming too full of myself (Cost).

Benefit: Like you, I have no knack for witty posts and online banter, so I refrain. But I certainly appreciate the broader spectrum of insight that I see from those who do have the knack. All communication (or lack thereof) can tell us something if we look, and in BDSM, humor and community become a necessary counterbalance to the high/low intensity that often besets those in the lifestyle (ok, is it really a lifestyle or BS?).

So thank you for the post, and thanks to everyone else for all the pages of replies. Not yet sure what I learned this time around, but it did keep my attention...

/rant

Oh that I like.   <bows in acknowledgement to Strongmindbody>

And   "Like you, I have no knack for witty posts and online banter, so I refrain."  - the elegant insults are the best.
