As a Dom, do you feel attracted to a woman (or man) who self-identifies as a 'brat' or a 'SAM'?

I admit I'm being nosey, but I've never understood this.

When a woman announces "I'm annoying most of the time' I think "move over there -- waaaaaay over there --- and leave me be.'

Are there Doms who rub their hands together and think ,'O good!  Lots of discipline!'?

Or is there some other appeal I'm missing?

I don't go out of my way to find brats and SAMs, though they find me easily enough.

It gives me a chuckle watching a SAM find out that I can be brattier than them, though.

I don't care what people call themselves.  I care what people do.

"I can be a brat," might mean that the last guy she was around called her bratty.  Perhaps I could handle situations better than he did, so she would feel less urge to act out.

I've said this before, but profiles are almost irrelevant to me when I consider contacting someone.  The lady I'm taking to M's wedding tomorrow had a profile that basically said, "Absolutely, positively don't contact me unless you have lots of experience doing X."  I wrote her and said, "I don't know how to do X.  This is a bit about me, a bit of what I can do, and this is why you interest me."  She wrote back right away.

I care about what people have accomplished, and whether they care about others.  I don't care about how they label themselves.

Nope-  Either they really are bratty and therefore not compatible, or they can't understand how to be witty and full of life without being "bratty" and again not compatible.

A lot of subs really just don't get how to chill out and be comfy as a slave who is witty and full of life and personality- they think you're either bratty OR lifeless.

Brats and SAMs transate the same to some people... a challenge.
Personally, I do not like the idea of having to break a sub to get what I want, but for some thats where half the fun lies.

Well, he's attracted to me, so I guess he must be. But honestly doesn't how you define brat come into it? I'm not rude by sake refusing every single thing he wants. I will pounce on any chance to outperform him in puns. I will, when I know he's in a good mood, invite him to be playful by tickling or poking him. Because in the right mood he enjoys that, since he always pokes and tickles back and wins that game. Anyway, he calls me a brat and enjoys me bratting. Because when I'm in the mood for that, I'm inviting spanking and hot sex.

He prefers I  be in the mood for sex since he doesn't have much enjoyment if I'm not responsive. So he likes knowing when I am very responsive as well as happy and likely to giggle during the spanking. It works for us.

I love and adore a person who has a sense of humor.. and that twinkle...

However I can not abide by brats of any type. Pushy people get the direct opposite of what they wish for around me. I just can not stand the drama. yuck.

I do not wish for a door mat.. or someone with no sense of humor.. or fun.. but out right bratty nope.. the lack of what I see as a base line of respect I just can not get past.

Bratty and smart mouth children are a nuisance. Sorry Mr. and Mrs. Proud Parent .. it's not "adorable" when your little angel lays in the middle of the floor kicking and screaming because you chose the more upscale Chez Charles Du Frommage instead of Chuckee Cheese's for dinner tonight.

Bratty and smart mouth "submissive" adults are even less attractive. There is nothing cute about questioning the legitimacy of my birth, suggesting I have carnal knowledge of my beloved mother or implying that you've been struck harder by your 12 year old sister whose testicles are obviously larger than mine.

I don't know, let's ask Jim

Seriously, I see someone like you as being playful (very, very playful ), not a brat. And, if I were with someone playful, I assume they would learn, quite quickly, where the lines and limits were, and that there wouldn't be much in the way of problems.

you are right...i consider myself to be playful and spirited. Thank goodness Jim does as well.  Imho there is willful intent behind bratty behavior.

I've never been into them myself.  If a girl can't be submissive without being mouthy it just irritates me.

If we can be clear that a bratty sub is not simply playful but one who will misbehave and create drama to get my attention, then I would have to say no, I do not find that attractive, however I do not think brattiness is a permanent condition in all cases.  Sometimes it is simply learned behavior acted out by one that does not know a better way to communicate her desires or needs and that can be corrected with a little work.  I find in those cases I enjoy the work even though I am not attracted to her initial behavior. If that is the case and I can correct it then there is a sense of accomplishment for me and a great deal of gratitude from her for showing her that she can indeed behave differently and still get her needs met.  I like to think I am a very patient man, but if I cannot help her learn to change after a short time in my care, then I chalk it up to simple incompatibility and send her packing.

If you are attracted to somebody you're attracted to them...if it's mutual you make it work.  If they have one leg a meter shorter than the other there are going to be challanges, if they have rich parents there will be challanges....if they are simply born human there will be challanges.  I have found at least most brat isms, come out of fear, kinda like young guys doing the macho  thing, once you don't indulge it or otherwise reinforce it, the whole thing goes away.

of course with the subs I've had I don't require this absolutlism that you see with other doms'...I'm not comparing negatively either way, so they are always encouraged to express thier opinions and observations, and more than once they've stopped me from putting black on red because I was too damned mad about the car to see it myself (yeah it's a metaphore)..now I never have done such a thing on my own, so maybe them pointing it out is just redundant but I'd rather them stop a mistake from happening than worry about talking back.

I was taught there was only one perfect man and he was a carpenter (which makes you wonder how he got to be a carpenter since you can't be a carpenter until you hit your thumb with the hammer...special rules I guess) so as long as I'm not perfect I'd rather have another set of eyes around.

but bratness to me is like hair color...it all works out to be one color in the end.

While I've told My Pet many times that I do not want a real life sex doll (an entity lacking any and all creation of her own) I also do not like brats.

Its cute if she pouts sometimes, or throws a SMALL fit when she wants to do something a better way because she knows I'd enjoy it more.

I love playfulness. I love growling. I love tackling. I love nuzzling and nibbling. I remember one time she was peeking her head out of the bedroom, asking me if I was looking, because she had to run across the house.

"Master, are you looking?!"
"..No Pet.."
"........(long pause).... You promise?"

I smiled.

What I do not abide is thanklessness. I ensure My Pet sees the lesson in everything, and is thankful for the little things. The things that many failed couples would have overlooked. So do I like brats? Only wanna-be brats =).

Also, what does SAM stand for?

Edit: SAM = Smart Assed Masochist?
