*sighs* It's barely after 3 p.m. here and ALREADY the freakin' fireworks are starting by my neighbours. I absolutely detest it. Today and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Heaven forbid people here would actually follow the laws and set off firecrackers and the like during LEGALLY ALLOWED hours!!!! Call the police? Don't make me laugh.

I hate it. I'd like to shove a firecracker up the asses of those who can't set these things off during allowed hours.

Okay...I have ranted. Thanks. :)

It can be annoying, I agree. Kind of tempting to sneak up behind some of them, and let off a couple of rounds.

I agree. Annoying. Especially when I'm trying to sleep because I have to get up at 2:30am to go to work!

I just stepped out into the street and set off a 'piccolo pete' in your honor.  It's the fucking Fourth of July.  There are going to be fireworks.  Deal with it.

I remember when I lived in NJ, years ago.  My bedroom window overlooked a parking lot where neighbors lit off all kinds of noisemakers on the 4th..  the only time it bothered me is when I had to get up for work the next day.  It wasn't so much the fireworks, I could have slept through that noise.   It was the drunken, LOUD voices that were most annoying.

:)

Not to be entirely indelicate but those things scare the piss out of me.  I just can't seem to relax when firecrackers that sound like 'gunshots' are going off all around me all night long.  I NEVER get any sleep on the 4th or New Years eve.  I usually just put on a movie or music, turn the volume way up and huddle in my room until its over.  Ugh.... I guess there are worse things I could be than irrationally neurotic two nights a year.

i don't mind the fireworks (in fact i think this may be the first year i've actually ever seen professional ones, and they were free on my campus to boot)...i could have lived without the drunken co-eds wobbling around my parking lot.

Yeah the drunken noises, gunshot like explosions and overall chaos of the night makes me a nervous wreck.  Its ridiculous, I know that, but the great (or not so great) thing about irrational fears is they aren't ....rational.

Oh you hit the nail on the head with that one! I am sooooo glad I do not have to work today or tomorrow.

Your post made me laugh! But come on. You missed part of my point. I KNOW that people do this on July 4th and for New Year's. I don't like it, but maybe I could deal with it a little bit better if people would obey the LAW and not set them off OUTSIDE the legally designated hours.

JstAnotherSub: Awww!!! That's another thing. I feel for the poor beasties who don't know what's going on and can't understand.

PsyVamp:  Oh I can relate to that one too! Unfortunately for me, I'm a light sleeper. Even with ear plugs. I don't understand the need for drunkenness either. I'm just an all around party pooper I guess!

WinsomeDefiance:  Awwww...*hugs* Hope you get through it alright. :)

My poor dog hates them.  He was brave and tried to go outside, but heck with that.
They always do this when I have to be at work at 9am tomorrow.  I hope they are done.
BTW, it is so dry here, they should have banned the things. Busy day at work.

Have a good evening.

Regards, MissSCD

O.o Why do peeps object to loud noises on the 4th. It's inevitable... just go outside and blow things up. ^_^  I did burn the crap out of my thumb this year though... argh..

Oh, I don't object on a rational level.  And if I could pry myself out from under the bed, I'd go right on out there and shoot off a few of my own!  Ok, no I wouldn't.

Uhm....'cause I like to have a decent night's sleep and not have to be awakened several times during the wee hours because people are setting them off after the legally allowed hours?

Don't look to me for any sympathy.  I'm the kinda guy that used to love getting halfway lit, and hanging out with friends throwing firecrackers at each others feet and legs, then later moving on to setting off illegal mexican roman candles (the kind that *actually* shoot a good distance)at each other, then when it's late enough, burying and setting off M80's, 1/4 sticks, etc.

Haven't done it for a long time, and probably won't again, but I always hoist one in silent tribute to the young, the stupid, and the loud.  Here's to you, my brothers... may your eye-patch look roguishly sexy!
