Missokyst -> Invite me? (7/6/2008 10:59:53 AM)

Usually I don't respond to an email that is a one word sentence.
"Hello"
Mostly I don't because that is similar to me as someone passing me on the street, and giving me a nod of greeting if I happen to catch their eye.  I do nod back, or give a wave, but it seems silly to do that in email.
I mean.. there isn't a question in a hello.

But yesterday I was bored and when I got that hello I dropped him a "hi" back.  I asked "do I know you?"  Thinking it might be someone I knew but who had changed their nick.
He gave me the grating "Not yet little one." in return.
He was semi local so I asked if he was a member of that local munch group.
He stated he was private to which I responded that lots of people are.  He asked "shall we chat?"

Now... here is where my clueless part comes in..
I said, I don't mind talking with strangers as long as it is not sexual.
And he said "sounds good, invite me."

I sent an email back asking.. "invite you?  Where?  Are you looking for information on local groups?"
He never responded.
So.. what does it mean when someone on the other side says "invite me?"
I am totally clueless.
Any ideas?

He wanted you to send him a chat request.  That's my guess.

GreedyTop -> RE: Invite me? (7/6/2008 11:02:09 AM)

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: Invite me? (7/6/2008 11:03:51 AM)

Missokyst -> RE: Invite me? (7/6/2008 11:04:15 AM)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh good grief!  Why would they do that rather than issue one themselves?

I was on aol the other day, long enough to check mail and spend about 10 mins in one of the chats... I am hardly ever on there anymore except to check mail.. and I always sign in invisble now..

Perhaps he was playing pinochle and not footsie with you; and, not having partnered with you before, thought that it was a good time to reveiw strategy.

He got farther with you than he would've with me.  After the words "little one" I would've been done.  Condescension as its place but I think he threw that card out too early.

NumberSix -> RE: Invite me? (7/6/2008 11:35:44 AM)

Now, why would that be, exactly?  Are you a hefty woman?

No, but at 5'9" I can't be considered a "little one"    [:D]

With the top of your head off like that, and on your knees, I am willing to bet you could appear like something out of a Frank Baum episode.

Vampires cannot enter a home unless invited. So...

It probabaly means he was interested in cyber sex but lost interest when you didn't respond how he wanted.

Possibly because, when he looked at your profile, the "Invite to Chat" was grey instead of black, so it wouldn't work.

Lynnxz -> RE: Invite me? (7/6/2008 12:00:07 PM)

Ewww... You can throw 'little one' in the bin with 'girl' and 'sweetheart'

At 6'1" and 260, I could consider you a "little one" but I would never be so crude as to address you as "little one" unless I knew you personally and knew you liked it.

Missokyst -> RE: Invite me? (7/6/2008 12:04:30 PM)

Gosh... I didnt even know there was an invite to chat button, let alone a greyed out one.  LOL sheesh goes to show you how clueless I can be.
