I have to assume thta you are asking for some kind of scientific reason, rather than "you are submissive because it makes you feel good to let someone else be in control" Not everyone can be Alpha-type personalities. If everyone in the world were a leader, then nothing requireing more than one person to do would ever get done. Look at us from a purely biological standpoint.. we tend toward a natural tribal social structure, even today. We work sooperatively and we have had to in order to survive for hundreds of thousands of years. It seems to me, anyway that we never would have survived as a species if there were not natural leaders and natural followers. That is not to say all leaders are dominant nor all followers submissive, however, simply because we have not located the dom/sub gene does not mean there is not one. It may simply be a gene that requires double reinforcement to manifest as Dom or sub. From the reading I have done here and on other places, ther are an awful lot of people who have come to a similar conclusion.

I liked to think I stopped asking that question,recent events have disabused me of that.Once again I find myself pondering that very question,if I come up with something I would let You Know,but seeing as this would probably be just my answer don't see how it would do You any good

I had this exact same thought run through my mind last night when Alpha had me tied to a hook in the wall by a gag in my mouth, my hands behind my back and my pelvis pulled out as far as my legs could go... I literally asked, "Why do I like this?" when it was all over. He put his hand on my neck and said," Because I do". It was priceless.

I do not know how to explain my thoughts on this question. I have asked it myself so many times recently. So often I question myself and my submissiveness, particularly where sex is concerned only to find I cannot change it. It breeds great confusion in me, the need to submit and to be dominated. Quite often it is the only thing that makes sense to me and the only way I feel safe...

~FR~ That 'we' part of the subject title doesn't work so well actually. For everyone out there who seeks clarity of self, each has their own reasons and often people stop looking for the 'why' of things. Personally, I am quite content with my own answers but doubt those answers would satifsy or even be true for anyone else. It took many years to figure things out for myself and a lot of research into brain function to boot. I never was the sort who could set aside those 'why' questions. ::grins:: If you are fed and thrive, I'd suggest you enjoy that to its fullest in whatever manner it manifests and if you want to continue searching out the 'why' of it, do so .. but, in the end, you're the only one who can answer that question for yourself. Welcome to the forums.
