Another point to consider - be glad you cant pick her up because she must have been seriously annoying to piss a guy off enough that he decided to shoot her... My ex-wife was Satan with tits and all she got was a divorce action... LOL

Ah yes, blame the victim. Because annoyance is a good reason for assault any day of the week.

Note the next sentence highlighted in red? The one followed by the LOL? Its called sarcasm...

I must have misread the tone then.

Um - unless there is something you want from the baby generation - why do you care what they think of you? Or what you perceive they think of you.

The only people that i care enough about to worry what they think of me are the people i love, and a few of the people that i like.  And honestly the ones under 35, i don't take too seriously. They come across as being a little flakey.

Of course, i want everyone to like me - but i don't get too bent out of shape about it. [:D]

I agree wholeheartedly. I am quite unremarkably average looking, yet I have no problem picking up women because I am confident (almost to the point of arrogance), fun, spontaneous, unpredicatable and I make them laugh.

I'm the same as you, modesty isn't my best quality. I'm beautiful, cultured, intelligent, well-spoken, incredibly vivacious, amazingly smart, unbelievably funny... the list goes on... and life is tough, as men of all ages simply fall at my feet. What a SHAG, having to pick them all up.

Meh. Unless they're actually earning six figures themselves, tell them to go pound sand.

If they are earning six figures, offer to go out to dinner with them... and leave your wallet at home [8D]

Bingo.
I made up my mind quite some time ago that what I wanted from someone in a relationship was smarts, integrity, sense of humor, that sort of thing. Age never figured into it, approval of a certain type never figured into it.

what do you expect from someone still wet behind the ears?  don't worry, with luck they'll get to be our ages and their youngers will do the same to them.  it's called the revenge of growing older, lol.  the cycle repeats itself with every generation.

Like I said, it is funny, some of these kids refer to us as losers, but it never fails, when they need advice, who do they turn to?

NOW that is revenge.

It's the same being a 44 year old woman.  No age seems to want that number .. even the old guys would rather have the 21+ age.  To that, I say, enjoy the drama bubba!

Solia, I'm 42 and I haven't had any trouble attracting a man.  My preferred age range is 35 or so to about 52, though many older and a few younger have approached me.  I find the old adage 'you can attract more flies with honey ...' to be true.

And yet, in your profile, you state you are seeking a slave in the 18-35 range.  Why not a woman closer to your own age, if you seem to be having trouble relating to younger women?

Well, I'll be 55 in a little over two months, my GF will be 54 in 2 months exactly, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Her libido is amazing. If I were to be able to trade her for Next Year's Model, 18-25 or 30, what would I be getting that would be better?

Aileen1968 -> RE: It never ceases to amaze me..... (7/8/2008 8:20:13 PM)

There was a movie, from the 70's probably, where the little crystal on your palm changed color and started blinking when you got old...30 I think.  Then they carted you into a big dome and then obliterated you with a laser.  Anyone else remember that movie?

jlf1961 -> RE: It never ceases to amaze me..... (7/8/2008 8:22:54 PM)

It is not that I have a problem relating to younger women, but more appropriately, it never fails that I am always good enough to go to for advice, but not as dating material.

The young lady that I mentioned has a nasty habit of calling me two and three times a week and asking advice, about guys, cars, etc.

Now, I have always believed in being available for people who wish to ask me for help, but perhaps this is one instance where I probably should change tactics, or at least put an end to the 'daddy' type phone calls.

Tonight was a good example, she called me and asked if I could give her a ride home, seems her date dumped her and took off.   I made a call and got her a ride, and then she called and complained about the fact I wasnt the one that gave her the ride!

Now by the same token, there is a neighbor girl that comes over all the time asking about what to do about various problems she is having with her horse, a mare that seems to be prone to uterus infections, every time she comes into season.

The primary reason I am looking for someone younger is because I have actually thought it might be nice to have kids around the house again.

And the funny thing is that five years ago, the fact that I was a busted up old cowboy was considered 'romantic' by a good number of girls in the same age bracket.

As for the movie with the crystal that blinked when you turned 30 it was Logan's Run, with Michael York and Farrah Fawcett Majors.

christine1 -> RE: It never ceases to amaze me..... (7/8/2008 8:29:42 PM)

i'm not sure why anyone cares what a teenager thinks about them....or anyone of any age for that matter.

I rememeber what i think was a Star Trek episode that was very similar to that, but not really THAT particular movie.  There was another movie from about 1970 called "Wild in the Streets" which was about the required retiring of people 30 and above to retirement villages and keeping them "out of the way" with the use of LSD.  Same kind of thing, keep the old folk out of the way.

Vendaval -> RE: It never ceases to amaze me..... (7/8/2008 8:49:01 PM)

That would be Logan's Run, circa 1976.

jlf1961,

I think that these younger girls coming to you for advice are either seeking someone "safe" to confide in or they need a fatherly presence in their life.  If you find a younger woman who likes a paternal, older man, then the scenario will become easier.  You may not be wealthy, but it sounds like you can provide stability, which is something many people seek.
